From the dating information at:
http://www2.fender.com/support/articles/u-s-instruments-product-dating/
N9 + 5 or 6 digits (serial No is N9 400196) = 1999.
Yes great looking and playing guitar.

There was a bit of a cock up at Fender and some N9 numbers were actually used in 1990!

This isn't one of them.

My 1999 has a serial number only a couple of hundred after this one. Mine is also White Blonde, but it is transluscent, with Ash body and maple fretboard.

IMO this series is one of Fender's most under rated. I've played quite a few of the 96 onwards series and they have all been very good.

GLWTS, somebody's gonna get happy!

Agree Karl, late 90s Fenders were great. Apparently Fender were bought out/took over in the late 90s and the new regime decided they needed to up their game. The result were some of the best instruments Fender put out in a long while. I had a 97 Precision, one of those "shouldn`t have sold it" basses.

Anyway, free bump to the op - great bass, shouldn`t be around for long as great price.
