Volume variance

Hi all!

Ok, when switching between an active bass to a passive bass (TRB5p to Fender JB), there's a considerable drop in volume. Now, getting to my amp on a crowded stage isn't always possible so it can be a bit of a pain. I did try one of the sansamp programmable DI boxes (VT bass) pedals but I never really got on that well with it and sold it eventually. I guess I'm not really looking for a pedal that will colour my sound, more give it a lift. Perhaps programmable EQ? Any thoughts?

I love this place :)

Some use the Source Audio programmable EQ for this very task, although a clean boost or the opposite (e.g. EHX Signal Pad) is a much simpler approach. The signal pad might be a good bet if you have pedals in your chain that don't respond well to high output basses, you can bring it down to match the level of the passive bass.
