Ahh, now, depends what you're after. Was the one you played an export model (no scratchplate), or one of the Japan-only ones with a scratchplate? There was one of the export ones on the For sale page:-

The Japan-only ones do come up on Ebay but to get a new one you'd have to go to one of the companies that deal with Japanese imports (like these folks, although those more knowledgable than me may tell you there are better ways. Not sure if these are even trading any more).

This will at least show you the difference. I had an export version a few years ago which I didn't get on with, but I'm not a Jazz bass man, and the one I had was bit of a dog. It obviously suits you so good luck!

Keep an eye on Ishibashi's u-box, their second hand section

They come up frequently enough at unbelievably low prices, even after shipping and taxes.

Great bass.

[quote name='long*live*rock' post='265320' date='Aug 19 2008, 11:12 AM']I played one of these basses last night and fell instantly in love.

Fantastic crisp and clean sound with beautiful sustain.

Does anyone have one of these basses for sale and if so let me know or does anyone know where I could get one at the right money

Cheers

I've a jap only scratch plate model. I'm half and half on it, I love the neck, but the uncontoured body edge isn't user friendly when sitting down (fine when stood up), and the sharp squared off pup covers are painful when compared to the smooth rounded ones on my vmj.
The sound is interesting, doens't sound good on it's own imo, but that p-pup with the j-pup sounds ace in the mix with other stuff.

I'm half and half.

But if you want a new one, contact Guitar Emporium (google them), I got mine from them, they're pretty damn good.
