Incoming instrument means this is for sale. It's lovely as is reported elsewhere on the forum (I'll link to the threads when I find them). It's the Muhammad Ali of basses, floats like a butterfly at under 8lbs, stings like a bee with the stunning TV Jones PUP.

Neck is hefty, but no more than old Precisions generally.

You can probably see why I don't need two! As is the case with the Jazz I'm currently selling, difference in tone and playability, not a whole lot to be honest. FCS is perhaps a tad more to my liking, but at the price it should be really :)

Do like!
I tried this at a Bass Bash when it was Billy Apple's and loved it.
If one of mine sells I may be onto this.

Out of interest, do you have the the white pickguard for it Beedster?

Hello mate, Billy did PM me about the pickguard but I forget what he said, I'll chase it up

Cheers

Chris

Well, I bought this a few months back and have'nt really opened it up so to speak, in fact I've only used it with Markass, albeit nice Markbass (TTE 500). Yesterday I had the sheer pleasure of plugging in to a VERY nice Ampeg and what a revelation the T V Jones PUP proved to be, a stunning tone and everything from thumpy Motown to surprisingly Jazz/Ray slap. The whole instrument, being both VERY light and extremely well built, simply sings, it's almost like it really enjoys doing it!

Why am I selling? I really don't like the way it looks, to my eye it's like on of those cars in the cover of ZZTop's Eliminator, an uncomfortable and unsuccessful blend of retro and modern. However, I'm now thinking that this could be overcome with either some psychotherapy on my part or a little structural work on the bass, which compared to my FCS '55 Precision just feels too new and pristine.

Either way, if you want this bass, jump now before I change my mind about selling it.

OK, need to clear the decks. I have a large number of bass-related boxed leaving by courier on Thursday, so I'll let this go for £600 plus postage (or collected) if you pay before midday tomorrow. As a few folks who've played this bass will attest, for £600 this is a LOT of bass for the money. If it doesn't sell at this price I'm going to keep it, strip the body (the grain in the pics of the body in Billy Apple's build thread looked quite nice), strip down the neck and go for a real worn in feel for this bass.
