String advice for drop tuning a Rickenbacker

That would be a bit tight... assuming the OP is in the heavier music realm, a bit of flop from a drop-tuned 4 string can be beneficial, adding some extra snarl and aggression all of it's own. It's all down to personal preference of course but for years I played in low C# tuning and found Rotosound 50-110 more than up to the job. I much prefer a downt-tuned 4 to a standard 5 in most cases.
Bear in mind Troy Sanders from Mastodon frequesntly tunes to drop A and a 'standard' 105 works for him.
