I think it depends how you eq them as well as the bass you are using. If the Rumble had sounded as you described then I would've sent it back but so far I'm finding it to be [u][i][b]very[/b][/i][/u] punchy and clear with a great low end

I used mine when I played in a worship band. Always had a good clear sound & plenty volume available (I never DI'd the bass).
