I have decided to go in a different direction in as far as ampage required. I am looking for a lightweight Combo, Max budget of 4-500 new or secondhand, cheaper the better. Looking for something along the lines of a great burpy tone. ( I could use sooo many subjective terms, I find it difficult to get the idea across, so I will post a video or two.) I guess what I am saying, is it possible to get an approximation of this sort of tone with lightweight combo class D equipment with the apparent amount of air being shifted? Lozz196 Posted November 12, 2014 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Well small, lightweight, powerful, with a tone like that I`d look at Markbass. Not just saying this because I`ll be selling my Markbass gear very shortly, but that tone is very achievable with it - you can of course double up with matching ext cabs with Markbass too and these really add in some nice tones and a lot more oomph. I see the TC BG250 is really cheap and lightweight. Just wondering if it can cop the sound. Wonder what gospel cats use Markbass stuff. I hear GK is the typical amp sound in Gospel... Lozz196 Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 The CMD121s are nice and easy to cart about, both the P version which I have, and the H which is a bit bigger. Certainly the P version can be carried for at least half a mile in one hand - I know as I had to once, with bass in hard case in the other and leads bag over the shoulder. Once you get onto the 210 range, yes they are light but whether or not a distance-carry one hand lift, well I`ve not really tried, but certainly can still be picked up with one hand. And they are powerful too - I used to use my 121 on its own in my last band and it had plenty enough power and size of sound. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
