What is up with my stringray?

Recommended Posts

I have an intermittent problem with my stingray where it will suddenly have this weird wet fuzz/delay effect through it. Only started happening recently and not got a clue what it may be.

I have attached a sound clip demonstrating what the issue is.

Any other bass is fine, so I've narrowed it down to the bass.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried putting new batteries in yet?

Not yet, but I shall source a new one tomorrow.

Strange if it is the battery on the Stingray. Only had it for a few months. I have a Fender Jag which is active and when the battery is done on that, I get no output at all. Thought this would be the case on the ray.

I had exactly this issue when the battery went on one of my Rays. Hopefully it's as simple as that :)

Also, just in case you weren't aware, if you leave a jack plug in the bass even when not in use, it zaps the battery.
