Sorry guys. This is now WITHDRAWN. I fully worked out the finances needed to build the Warmoth Jazzmaster that I wanted to make (about £700 needed) and I can't justify the extra expense after selling this at the moment as I'd still need another 200 quid or so. Ah well it'll just have to wait and be a project for the future.
I reserve the right to change my mind again !

I'm surprised that I'm considering letting this one go, but I've got a yearning to build a Warmoth Jazzmaster with a Wenge neck, and the only way I could fund it is with the sale of this magnificent bass.

It's a fairly well known bass on the forum, previously owned by Pinball and Evil Dead I believe. Also played by one or two others.

It's a 1996 Fujigen-made Ibanez SR1300PM. So that makes it a Paduak and Mahogany sandwich body (Paduak on the outsides). Neck is Wenge and Bubinga laminate. The fretboard is a particularly beautifully figured piece of Wenge with abalone inlays.
The first thing you notice when you pick this up and play it is how bl00dy light it is, yet how incredibly rigid. I'm convinced some sort of magic goes into making this neck. Surely it can't be that slim and yet be so rigid !
Every string is beautifully resonant and full. The action is low and it is truly lovely and incredibly easy to play.

Extras on this bass are .....

- USA Bartolini PJ pickups.

- John East U retro deluxe (so that includes the passive with a tone control option)

- Hipshot detuner on the E string.

It's not an immaculate bass and does have a few marks here and there, but is still in really nice, classy condition. The rear of the neck is smooth and immaculate though. No dings or marks there. This bass just oozes class and high Fujigen build quality.
Would come with a quality hard case. £495 posted in mainland UK. A bit cheaper if you collect (nr Southampton) and a bit more if you live further away. No trades, no offers, sorry. Also, FYI, the cat (who was desperate to get in the shots) is not included in the sale.

Ah yes, my old beauty! Bough it from Sean and sold to Purpolaris I believe, so it has been around a bit.

Lovely bass.

In that case I'm sure I've played this one and it started my lust for Ibanez (I almost bought a brand new SR1600 on the strength of this bass).

I'm very tempted.

Do you have more info on the eq controls ?

No strap buttons ?

Cheers

Ah yes ... Dunlop flush mount straplocks included. They're great and leave nothing sticking out of the bass when the strap is detached. It will come with all the parts.

THe EQ has 5 knobs. One volume, one passive tone (push/pull for active passive switching). ONe pickup blend knob, one concentric bass/treble knob and a final concentric knob with mids frequency and mids cut/boost.

It's this one .... http://www.east-uk.com/index.php/bass/u-retro/u-retro-5-knob-deluxe.html
