wingnutkj Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) [s]PRICE DROP: £250 and will now post.[/s] This has now sold. Yamaha BEX4c semi-acoustic bass, in a lovely midnight blue with flamey top and white binding. These basses were only made for a few years in the late '90s/early 00s, and feature semi-hollow body, 34" scale neck with rosewood fretboard, a humbucking magnetic pickup, a piezo bridge, 3-band EQ, blend control and volume control. I've had it for about ten to twelve years and have only gigged it a few times. It's in very good condition, but there's a bit of surface wear and buckle scratches but nothing through the paint-work. There's a crack on the EQ panel mount where it screws to the body, but it has remained solid and doesn't affect the operation of the EQ. I moved the neck-side strap button to the back of the body, where it's held firm - it had a tendency to loosen out when screwed into the edge. I don't have a case for it, but will provide a Godin-branded gig bag. Ideally, I'd prefer pickup/delivery in the Glasgow/West of Scotland area, and can also do pickup/delivery in the Northeast of England (Newcastle/Sunderland/Durham) or anywhere along the M74/A69 while I'm driving up or down (I do so fairly frequently). I can also post it. Payment by bank transfer or Paypal. Any questions, get in touch. More pictures: (that's my ceiling rose reflected in the back, not some really odd buckle-rash!): Crack in EQ surround: Strap pin moved: Edited October 13, 2014 by wingnutkj
wingnutkj Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Bump with price drop! Edited April 2, 2014 by wingnutkj
wingnutkj Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 Bump - open to offers (and if anyone wants to trade it for a white Hagstrom Viking bass, let's talk...)
wingnutkj Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Bump - another price drop - open to offers.
wingnutkj Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 Bump - open to insulting lowball offers ;-) (I reserve the right to refuse them, but you never know...)
41.2Hz Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Does the bass produce much volume unplugged? Enough to practice, say?
wingnutkj Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Hi Mike, It's slightly louder than a solid-body bass unplugged, but not as loud as an actual acoustic bass. In the past I've tried using it to practice with a guitarist on acoustic guitar, and it wasn't loud enough for that - ended up having to plug in.
Thunderbird Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Must be good basses as Billy Sheehan ( Have I spelt that right?) uses them on his basic bass videos
wingnutkj Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Yeah, it's loud enough to practice at home with, I'd say.
philw Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Have a bump from a BEX4 fan. These are lovely basses. You can't go wrong. £250 is a steal! Phil

wingnutkj Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Hi Stu, I'm not looking to trade at the moment, but good luck with the sale! Cheers, Kenny
