ATSbassman Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 I am looking to change the pickup's in a Fender modern jazz bass but with them having the unusual double jazz pickup's creating a humbucker I am a bit lost as to how to go about it I'm a straight up metal player so something like EMG's, Seymour Duncan's is prefered, just after some advice as to what options I have or what methods I would have to take to swap them out Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EmmettC Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 I am looking at a mpj 5, and the easiest replacement (upgrade) pickups are emg s or Seymour Duncan soapbars, I'm not sure if the 4 string is the same but either option will sound great for heavy rock/metal. MarkG3 Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I turned both pickups round, so when the upper pickup selection thinks it's using the outer coils it's actually using the inner coils, which for me gave me the sound I was hoping to get from the bass!
