Twincam Posted March 6, 2014 Share Posted March 6, 2014 I have a squire vm mustang the tuners are junk! Worst I've ever used. So I want to replace them. Can anyone tell me which tuners are an exact replacement. I don't fancy drilling any new screw holes etc. I have no clue about tuner sizes etc so help me out please. 2x18 Posted March 7, 2014 Share Posted March 7, 2014 Grover Vintage tuners are a very close fit on my modded Squier Mustang ( Sunburst with Gibson Thunderbird bass pickup )-- just had one screw hole on each tuner to reposition and the vacant screw hole is hidden under the tuner! I have had no problems with the tuners on my Fender MIM Pawn Shop Mustang - it would be interesting to compare the designs / screw layout. Also have you checked out [url="http://wdmusic.co.uk"]WD Music[/url]? I recently enquired about a pickguard and they contacted Fender to check which model years it would fit. [/quote] The PSM Mustang tuner has 20 teeth on the cog compared to the Squier's 19, and more of the worm is threaded on the PSM, but the screw layout looks similar.
