jaggysnake537 Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I have been using an AD200B for a few moths now, running it through an OCB 4x10. I love the amp, love the tone, love everything about it. Recently I have had a few problems, the amp has statred making strange crackling noise and I can't work out whats going on. I Know its not my guitar, pedals or leads. I always let the amp warm up for a few minutes and let it cool down when I'm finished using it. The noise comes and goes, but it is happening most when I've just turned it on. The amp is covered by warrenty but as I live in Ireland and the amp was bought from a mainland UK company its a pain in the arse sending it back if its something I could sort myself. [/quote] Have you tried... Nah, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Nice lapsus, though... Seriously, maybe you could contact the suppliers and get them to agree to a local valve amp technician having a look under guarantee..? There's not much that can go wrong really, but expertise is required, and I certainly wouldn't advise opening the amp yourself. Try to negotiate a local agent for the sellers..? I would imagine that, if it's a simple solution (Dry solder joint..? Loose/crackly valve..?) it could cost less than shipping it back to the mainland.
