They are based in London and after going to the launch party they really are amazing. They look great and sound even better. It only takes 6 weeks for a custom build as well. The preamp is Glockenlange which is virtually silent, definitely no hiss. I can only imagine that the hiss was amp induced rather than from the bass. Just to clarify; I haven't played any scales on them, but I imagine there's no hiss, no rattle, the action will be slinky, and, um, I'll get me coat. It's the snakeskin leather jacket... The tone with everything flat was awesome and small tweaks showed how versatile these basses are.
