1. +1 for the hi mass bridge. I find that the saddles on Fender's bbot strip the threads on the height adjustment screws causing bridge collapse. Probably my over aggressive playing. Also the p/u sector switch is a bit dodgy and a lot of folk seem to upgrade this AFAIK (haven't got round to doing that myself yet but would appreciate recommendations).
2. Need to ship the Precision in my thumbnail out first!
3. Have exactly the same bass, which I have just finished noodling on. They really are nice basses and at this price a real bargain. Shame I've already got one!
4. Just a bit further up the A1 is London Road Studios in Baldock, https://www.londonroadstudios.com/ Always been great when we’ve used them.
5. The Ernies are too short, made for the Ibanez VI. Newtone every time for me. Can’t recommend them and their service highly enough.
6. Just had a new nut fitted on my Squier Bass VI and a little bit of extra fettling by http://www.guitarmanuk.co.uk Leo did a great job and is a top bloke to meet and deal with. Highly recommended in the North Herts area.
7. Nice bass. I have a Babicz on mine which dropped straight in. Bit more than the Gotoh though (about £90 from the Bass Centre IIRC).
8. MIM Classic 50's has a 1.75" neck.
9. Have an ST 1200 Premium, really nice. Slim and fast neck, lots of tones available, what's not to like. My main gigging bass in a blues band. Doesn't look the part but definitely sounds it! Highly recommended.
10. Andy at Anaconda basses in Palmers Green.
11. An addition me thinks. Really like my Babicz though.
12. Newtone strings for me. Whatever gauge you want.
13. I don't but can I ask what it's for?
14. Couldn't agree more. Bought a couple of sets from them for my Bass VI, brilliant service and brilliant strings.
15.
Once again I have to play Devil's advocate on here and say yes, while its a compliment personally I wouldn't like it. Solid implies boring to me. I play like Jamerson, very syncopated and busy .... and hopefully tight as well!
Really, would love to hear someone who plays like Jamerson, who I would consider to be the solidest!
16. Yep, happy to be called solid, always take it as a compliment, especially in a four piece (guitar, drums, singist and me) 'cos that's what it needs!
17. Rotosound 77's just like I've just put on my Horner contemporary violin bass, I think Ernies have a darker silk wrap and IMO not as smooth as the Rotos.
18. Have you moved the front strap button? On the Hofner website it is on the side of the body not at the heel. Quite interested, how much would postage be?
19. Don't know if this has been mentioned on here, but used my new zoom pedal with my East Coast Stagg clone this morning, just a little bit of compression and it was very nice! Just saying!
20. Couldn't make the launch sadly but they're made by a really nice bloke. Some of the clips on Facebook are awesome, some excellent players making full use of the tones available. Well worth a look.
21. We're called J9 Blues. Normally we play in pubs in North Herts so this may be a bit of an excursion if it comes off!
