New Patrick strings fitted a couple of months ago. It's nice, I just can't play it! Location is Hampshire. I would get it couriered at buyer's cost, but I don't know how easy it would be to pack. And the stand, although it folds, is another world of pain entirely! Anyway, let's see those offers come flooding in! Marc S Posted November 20, 2013 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Just thought I'd give you a free bump here, and to anyone thinking of delving into the world of DB this is a good place to start That's a lot of instrument for the money I bought one about 18 months back, and it's what convinced me to buy an acoustic DB I don't use my Stagg so much now, but it's a handy spare and folds down to a very neat, portable size If you're reading this, and thinking about a spare, portable DB or just thinking of dabbling - go for it! I have a fair amount of fretless in my band's set, with lines I worked out long before trying to transpose them to the EUB. Funny old thing, but something tells me the two instruments are fundamentally different, and you can't *easily* just lift and shift rhythms and lines from the fretless to the EUB. Not sure about going the other way, but that would require me to develop lines on the EUB first, which I probably won't ever do, not least if I sell the Stagg! Marc S Posted December 9, 2013 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Shame you're selling it Mike, but EUB's and DB's are rather different beasts from bass guitars Personally, I'm finding I prefer to keep my basslines more simple than on a bass guitar Maybe it's just something about the resonance of DB? Even on the EUB, I find I like to leave some notes ring for longer...
