jock2020
Now sold * Polite note for any moderators - there seems to be a glitch of some kind in the PM system as I have experienced delays of around a day and a half on some of my Pms regarding this listing - unfortunately, this has led to a bit of confusion, extra hassle and some disappointment all-round, so if it helps any other folk selling you might want to check the PM system ? thanks 1985 Wal Mk1 Fretless Bass in great condition - looking for offers in the region of the asking price, comes with the original Wal case which would need repaired to be used regularly (only one working catch at the moment) - the Bass itself is in full working order ! Photos below, happy to email or post more on here on request - cheers Apologies for initially listing this as a MK2 - sincere thanks to the forum members who have since identified it as a MK1 - thankyou Edited July 13, 2013 by jock2020
duckman
That is a MK1 IMHO Very nice Looking Wal though...I prefer walnut facings over anything The unlined board, however extremely cool is also a bit intimidating Where are you located? And are you interested in a partial trade with a fretless Wal Pro? Cheers Edited July 11, 2013 by duckman
jock2020
I obtained the bass through a p/ex for some high end PA gear - I'm a guitar player 1st and foremost - the previous owner told me it is a MK2 Custom - I had no reason to disbelieve him, but if he was wrong and if any experts on Wal basses on the forum can confirm it is indeed a MK1 then I will amend the listing. FWIW (and also if it helps id the model) I've had the bass thoroughly checked out by my own bass player (who used to own a Wal back in the 80s) and everything is working as it should on the bass including the pull-push "Pick Attack" on the volume control and the pull-push eq function on both tone controls, Although the fingerboard is unlined the neck has side dot markings if that also helps. I'm in Glasgow (thought it said that on my profile??) and I'm just looking for a straight sale, but thanks for the offer anyway. Also, in regards to my profile. I see I apparently have 0 posts which is a bit strange, as I sold a JV Squier on this forum back in January to the forum member "cayston" and also advertised an EB4L on here which I subsequently sold on Ebay, but if anyone is worried about my apparent lack of activity on here you can also contact me via the Music Radar Forum where the bass is also listed (same username) or check my Ebay feedback (same username) cheers

jock2020
There is some light wear marking on the neck - nothing that affects the playability - i.e. the fingerboard is still smooth - there is one very slight nick on the fingerboard at the top end which I've noticed when taking extra photos today with the strings loosened (bottom photo) - again does not affect the playability one iota. The body has a few minor nicks but you have to look very closely to see them - the back of the neck has no nicks or dings whatsoever.
