1. There is some light wear marking on the neck - nothing that affects the playability - i.e. the fingerboard is still smooth - there is one very slight nick on the fingerboard at the top end which I've noticed when taking extra photos today with the strings loosened (bottom photo) - again does not affect the playability one iota. The body has a few minor nicks but you have to look very closely to see them - the back of the neck has no nicks or dings whatsoever. 2. ok - thanks for that guys - I'll now amend the listing. - sorry no extra Wals up either of my sleeves !
3. I obtained the bass through a p/ex for some high end PA gear - I'm a guitar player 1st and foremost - the previous owner told me it is a MK2 Custom - I had no reason to disbelieve him, but if he was wrong and if any experts on Wal basses on the forum can confirm it is indeed a MK1 then I will amend the listing. FWIW (and also if it helps id the model) I've had the bass thoroughly checked out by my own bass player (who used to own a Wal back in the 80s) and everything is working as it should on the bass including the pull-push "Pick Attack" on the volume control and the pull-push eq function on both tone controls, Although the fingerboard is unlined the neck has side dot markings if that also helps. I'm in Glasgow (thought it said that on my profile??) and I'm just looking for a straight sale, but thanks for the offer anyway. Also, in regards to my profile. I see I apparently have 0 posts which is a bit strange, as I sold a JV Squier on this forum back in January to the forum member "cayston" and also advertised an EB4L on here which I subsequently sold on Ebay, but if anyone is worried about my apparent lack of activity on here you can also contact me via the Music Radar Forum where the bass is also listed (same username) or check my Ebay feedback (same username) cheers
4. Now sold * Polite note for any moderators - there seems to be a glitch of some kind in the PM system as I have experienced delays of around a day and a half on some of my Pms regarding this listing - unfortunately, this has led to a bit of confusion, extra hassle and some disappointment all-round, so if it helps any other folk selling you might want to check the PM system ? thanks 1985 Wal Mk1 Fretless Bass in great condition - looking for offers in the region of the asking price, comes with the original Wal case which would need repaired to be used regularly (only one working catch at the moment) - the Bass itself is in full working order ! Photos below, happy to email or post more on here on request - cheers Apologies for initially listing this as a MK2 - sincere thanks to the forum members who have since identified it as a MK1 - thankyou
5. now on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111060503352?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
6. some more pics -
7. Hi folks, I have for sale my Gibson EB4L bass circa 1972/3. It's in full working order, frets look like they have been dressed sometime in the past and are all in excellent condition with no "grooving" - truss rod fully working as are all the electrics. As you can see from the photos an extra pickup has been added, so although probably not one for the museum curators amongst you, it definitely opens up the tonal range of the bass ! - it reads just over 10k on my multimeter (the original Bill Lawrence humbucker reads 8.6k on the highest setting of the original 3-way selector) - there is also a mini-toggle switch fitted for the bridge pickup so it really is a very versatile sounding bass. Quite a few little dings and marks on the body and lacquer wear on the back of the neck (see photos) but there are NO neck breaks or repairs and it plays very nicely indeed. I'm a guitar player 1st and a bass player 2nd so I'm not a regular on this forum, although I did sell a JV bass to Cayston aka Seni on here back in February so I guess you can get in touch with him if you need a reference ! (You can also get me on the Music Radar Forum - same username) I'm looking for what I think is a very reasonable £650.00 for the bass, it will be packed bombproof if shipping is required. Photos below - happy to either email or post more on the thread if required - cheers !
