Built in 1994/1995, this bass has been modded with EMG pups with a single volume control. I guess the previous owner liked the sound of the Mark Hoppus signature Jazz? As a result of the pup mods, the original pickguard has been replaced with a red tort one. Unfortunately I don't have the original pickguard or pups or controls. Anyway, it sounds great. With these pickups this instrument sounds the balls. It sounds huge, beefy, chunky and with a lovely air to it too. Given it's a short scale bass, its perfect for smaller people or perhaps kids wanting to learn and because of the smaller body size it weighs about 8lbs. It's in fairly decent nick. The neck's perfect, but there's a couple of dinks in the body. The largest of which is on the underside bout, the other couple too small to bother photgraphing. So the reason I'm selling up is very simple; I want another BB425x. Which is the only trade offer I'll consider incidentally. I've priced this for a quick sell; this is a Japanese made bass, extremely high quality with really decent pups. The reason I've kept the price low is because I agree that modifications lower the price of instruments and also taking into account the age and condition of the bass. No offers please!
