I would really appreciate somebodys help here.
I have blown the tweeter in my genz benz focus lt 15", just stopped working mid rehearsal. Its a compression tweeter, 8ohms, 50 watts.

Genz havent resonded to an email i sent over a week ago and im getting desperate. Is there anywhere in the uk i can source one from? Im not bothered about having the original in there and am quite tempted to put a better one in. Could i stick an 8ohm 75 or 100 watt one in there instead? What else do i have to look for other than right shape/ screw holes etc?

Any help would be appreciated muchly.

Thanks in advance
Freddie

Hmm, difficult one. I replaced a Peavey tweeter with a Marshall one as, same thing, Peavey didn`t reply to my query. It was a straight swap with dimensions, and worked fine. Maybe I lucked out, but may be worth a try if you can find a unit with the same dimensions.

I would suggest that a great many makes would probably fit the bill, but you ought to stick to the same rating in ohms and watts.
Take the tweeter out, if you haven`t already, and look for a code or any makers sign on it, then all you have to do is match that, or ask someone knowledgeable at Blue Aran or Lean Business, and they`ll recommend a decent replacement.
If there`s no code, measure it accurately (it should be a standard 1" driver)and quote size ,ohms and watts when asking about.
Don`t stress too much, there`s many a bassist who deliberately disables their tweeter.
