rallyeluke Posted September 5, 2012 Share Posted September 5, 2012 as above^^ the master tone pot goes from killing the volume on both pickups one minute to adjusting the tone the next min and the neck pickup pot then assumes the role of killing all the volume?? It baffles me lol the bass in question is [url="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130757890443?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649#ht_1215wt_1397"]http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130757890443?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649#ht_1215wt_1397[/url] (not the greatest but the auction I won was £61 delivered, I adjusted the truss rod a considerable amount and then set the action nice and low and it plays reasonably well now but has a p bass width neck so is not the quickest) any ideas on my electrical issue? plan is to junk all the electrics eventually and pre amp it but for now I would like to resolve this issue. I get a hell of alot of hiss when I turn the tone up though, is this normal for single pole jazz pickups? CHRISDABASS Posted September 7, 2012 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Almost all hiss and buzz can be reduced if not eliminated by shielding and earthing all the cavities in the bass!
