GENZ BENZ SHUTTLE AND ACTIVE BASSES

I'm currently using an active Overwater bass with 2 band EQ through my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 running the amp at 8ohms through an Orange SP212 Isobaric cab. The GB is constantly clipping even with the master vol at 12 o'clock (i.e half its potential volume) Whilst the clip light isn't constant, the signal is obviously 'too hot' for the amp. It's making me nervous and i've tried turning the pre-amp gain and volume on the amp down but the wattage plummets. I've also tried 'twiddling pots' on the bass and still the constant red lighting. Anybody got suggestions to remedy the problem and whilst i'm at it can anybody define the pot funcions on the Overwater Perception as it was delivered without a user manual. I understand that i'm using a guitar pre-amp through an amp function pre-amp but the clip light activates at relatively low volumes and I'm worried somethings gonna go pop.

[/quote]bye the way I also daisy chained another 8 ohm cab to run the amp at 4 ohms and it blew the speaker

If I recall correctly the gain clipping light on the genz shuttles can be virtually ignored.
They ought up way before actual clipping occurs or something and it's a soft valve-y clipping when it does. If I recall correctly.
Check with user 'agedhorse' is it? on talkbass. :)
