So,

I realise my dream at last, I purchase a used Thunderbird. Yipeeee!

I know it needs stringing, not a problem, but silly me.....I dont notice that one of the saddles is missing. Feckitty feck feck......

Not a problem, I'll buy one. Non to be found anywhere. Not being very good at guitar tech I dont know what else i could buy or what would fit.

Okay, i'll cry for a bit in frustration and buy a new bridge. Can't get them either as its Epiphone and Epiphone dealers dont carry spares and cant readily get hold of spares.

So my dream Thunderbird is now un strung and quiet and im not happy.

Can anyone help in any way,

I need either a set of bridge saddles or a used bridge?

I will love ya'll for ever :)

Think I got some from the US when I briefly had a Tbird w/o saddles, cheaper on ebay USA than this country at allparts who were out of stock anyway at the time.

I have an Epi Thunderbird (which, incidentally I am about to put it up for trade) which had a missing saddle - just the same as you. From a financial point of view it didn't seem sensible to replace the whole bridge or replace it with the much superior one (is it a Hipshot one?) so I had to search for a more appropriate (cheaper!) fix.

I got in contact with Howard the Bass Doc who very helpfully managed to find one in his stock of spares - as well as sorting the iffy pots and producing a missing back cover - all for a very reasonable price. It might be worth dropping him a line to see if he can rake anything up from his drawers (hmmmm - knowing Howard I may want to go back and rephrase that......).

Rosetti do list the saddles on their site (about five quid each) but only seem to have chrome or gold - can't see a black one. Just to complicate matters, Howard pointed out to me that the saddles are numbered according to the string (I hadn't realised this) - his replacement wasn't a perfect match for the missing one but did the job fine. The Rosetti site don't seem to differentiate between saddles - other than by the gold or chrome finish.

If you do make any progress in tracking a supplier down (if Howard can't help) it would be good to know. I am about to put mine up for trade but it would be interesting to find a place for Epi spares - they can be pretty reasonably priced so not suitable for spending megabucks on replacement parts.

Good luck with the hunt.....
