Ampeg PF500 Tone question

Hey Folks,
Just wondering as you do,
I know virtually nothing about Ampeg but I hear a lot about the Ampeg "signature" tone.
I'll need to upgrade my Amp pretty soon so I've been looking at various manufacturers over the last few weeks and I do need a bit of versatility and variation tonewise.
I think the Amp in this video is an SVT Classic but how close would the PF500 get to this, nowhere near or not far off ?? An SVT Classic is out of my budget btw.
Cheers in adavnce

Having had a PF500, I found it was a lot cleaner than the sound on the clip although a lot will depend on your speaker(s), I was using a P-Bass with rounds (and flats), into a Barefaced Compact & Midget with it. However, for a while I had a DHA (Dave Hall Amps) VT1 pedal, and that warmed up the sound a lot, giving a very good likeness to the clip. I reckon that will be the way to go - PF500 and some form of valve-type pedal, to warm up and get that slight gain/thick harmonics sound.
