SOLD: Glockenklang Bass Art Classic (BAC) Pre-Amp

Recommended Posts

Not sure whether everyone knows about this, so here’s a few details:

Widely recognised as one if not the very best bass transistor pre-amp ever, offering the clear clean organic warmth of the best studio valve pre-amps with the air, immediacy and transparency of class leading transistor based pre-amps (no other pre-amp I know can pull off this trick and I’ve tried just about all of them over some 20+ years of playing).

Specs comprise:

All class A operation (for unrivalled warmth and clarity of tone)

Dual input, with trim control to match 2 basses of differing output levels

Independently switchable bass / treble and dual semi-parametric tone control sections

Switched fully adjustable series / parallel FX loop, including adjustable ultra-lows cut filter (removes rumble)

Peak input LED and mute /tuning switch (can be operated using standard footswitch, not supplied)

240V, using standard IEC mains connector (i.e. standard kettle type lead)

2U rack, 155mm deep (nice and shallow)

Approximately 4Kg (9lbs)
I’d really love to keep this pre-amp as I suspect I’m really going to kick myself one day for selling it. However, in truth my unexplainable obsession recently with having some valve grit in my tone means that the Aguilar db-659 I finally found is currently getting all the play time (the BAC can do a half decent overdriven sound but it was never really designed for this).

Professional kit lit this needs to be used and I need the money at this moment in time, so this and some other rather tasty kit has to go... :(

Costs about £800 new (I paid over £900). Excellent condition (almost as new) so how about £600 + postage?
