Yamaha BBT500H Amp Head - £150

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

After five years of loyal service, I have decided to part with my lovely Yamaha BBT500H head as I have recently upgraded to a more powerful amp. It's a great little amp which was pretty revolutionary at the time, and although it has since been surpassed in the portability stakes, it's still pretty light at 11 lb and has some features which are pretty unique.

First up, it has a digital preamp with a range of 11 cool amp models from flat or classic, to fuzz or distortion. It then has a fully-featured compressor (control of ratio, threshold, knee, attack etc), a five-band semi-parametric EQ, noise gate, low and high pass filters. All this can be stored in the four preset slots, accessible by push-button on the front panel or via MIDI.

Around the back, there's a tuner out, an FX loop, headphone out, line out and balanced XLR DI (switchable pre/post EQ), speaker sim and limiter switches, and MIDI sockets. The speaker outputs are jack outputs, and there are two. It really is an all-in-one gig solution.

The condition of the one in my possession is probably best described as "good". There are some minor scratches on the top, and slight wear to some of the knobs on the front. Certainly nothing that is visible from a couple feet away.

Included in the sale is a padded Targus laptop bag (in good condition) which has been its home for the last five years. It's easily carried over the shoulder, and contains pockets for cables, strings, patch leads, a tuner, business cards, Allen keys etc.

Offered for sale at £150 collected from SE London which I think is a bargain. May be able to arrange to meet in the London area.

p/s: if anyone is after a full rig, thepeanmachine is currently selling the matching 2x10 cabs here (http://basschat.co.u...n-cab-for-sale/) at the same price, so you could have a beautiful, very versatile 500w amp stack for £300.

Superb and ultra-reliable little amps, used one as my main gigging head for years (and they were £400 new when I got mine, I think). Very useful compressor, and the "vintage" and grittier amp modes sound very valvey indeed.

I'd have this just as a back-up if I was in funds, but have a bump anyway......
