sixdegrees Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 I put an Ashdown ABM compact cab (115) up for sale on eBay with a 'buy it now' price of 170.00 With 36 hours to go, someone made me an offer of 140.00. I replied stating that I would accept 150.00 on the condition that it was cash on collection, and I ended the auction early (avoiding the fee of about 16 quid). Sounds straightforward, huh? Half an hour later the same person who'd contacted me had bought the cab at full price and paid the money by Paypal! I haven't had any contact since (roughly 12 hours). Is it just me....? Regarding the BIN etc; It could be that the buyer wants some protection in case there is a fault with the cab, paying via paypal gives some protection. dmccombe7 Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 (edited) Wouldn't rely on feedback too much with Ebay. I sold a sampler and the guy who bought it had good reviews and 100% rating. He didn't pay even after sending invoice. Didn't reply to emails or contact. Waited the official 4 days and contacted ebay and 2 days later it was paid by Paypal. That was at the weekend there. On checking each feedback i noted he had done this on several occasions back in 2008/9. I hadn't gone that far back. Ebay then tells me i cannot leave negative feedback to a buyer but he can leave negative feedback against me ?? That tells me ebay don't care about the feedback and as long as they get their % they don't wanna know. Be very careful on what ebay states and quotes. I have no trust or faith in them at all now.
