For sale here is a Bass I bought years ago with the intention of upgrading pickups/electrics etc, but never got round to. Wish I had, cos it would be a BEAST. Born in 82ish in the Matsumoku factory. P&J pickup config, thru-body stringing, Thru-neck construction, Solid bridge, Brass nut, 24 fret neck ... Not sure what wood is used but it feel solid etc.
Always intended whapping some EMGs in there but I guess I took on too many projects which swallowed up funds ... booohooo, poor me.
Anyhoo, for sale here is the whole shi-bang minus the pickups n pots (which were in a pretty poor state. In fact, you can have them too if you insist.)

Dunno how much these go for cos I've never seen another for sale. Howzabout £350 ONO?. :)
Thanks for the link to that site, been looking for more detailed info on my Vox basses for a while.
I have the Standard 34" and the White Shadow fretless.
I bought the Standard in 1982/3,can`t quite remember!

There's a Standard on Ebay at the mo, or there was a few days ago anyway. Never seen another Custom for sale tho. Wish I knew how much it was worth ...
Mind if I ask how much you bought your Standard for?

Mine was £199. But it was 30 years ago.
Here is the Standard on ebay, not doing too well.
Perhaps the subtle string guides aren`t to everyones taste.
:)
A bargain though, as they sound and play great, especially for rock with the P pickup at the bridge position, but are bloody heavy being all Maple.

There was a Custom about a month ago, on ebay but some fool had taken a saw to the body and ruined it.
Someone posted it in the JapCrap thread I think.

Edit,found it HERE

Holy f**k, Batman! That Custom is RUINED!! Not only does it look hideous, but the neck weighs a ton on it's own. That monstrosity will dive like Das Boot!

Aye, the string-guides are class on the Standard. hahaha
