Manufacture Date: December 1990 Features all the classic Ampeg features: footswitchable graphic EQ, Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo, Selectable mid frequency, DI out, all tube design and AWESOME TONE!!! Generally considered to be the closest in sound out of all the Ampeg pre-amps to the classic Ampeg sound. Gary Williams Posted July 26, 2011 Author Share Posted July 26, 2011 Hi Steve - the ultimate combination. That's exactly what mine has been used for. My 400+ is in a 5U rack so I added the SVTIIP so I can choose whether I want the Ampeg sound on a gig or the Mesa. Need to free up some funds and it does a seem a bit over the top to carry both .....even if it only adds a bit of weight. The Mesa also seems to have loads of tonal options so I just need to try and fiddle to get something close to the Ampeg. Works superbly and would be perfect with your Strategy 400 - as I said, the ultimate combination. Let me know if you'd like any other info.
