Before I have placed a bid, guy pulls the auction - supposedly because of an incorrect starting value. But it never re-appears, so I message him asking if he's relisting it. I get messaged back asking me what my offer is. I told him that I wasn't impressed and that if he wanted to do business with me, he ought to relist. I did hint at a value I'd be prepared to pay that he might want to list it at. He doesn't get back to me, so I tell him I'm not being held to ransom. He messages back to say that he's had an offer above what I said. Bull. I think I'll report this, it ain't right. How the guy has racked up 700+ feedback (100% positive) is beyond me. If you claim that he was trying to do a deal off eBay he could reciprocate saying that you made the approach and were trying to make an offer of eBay... you could end up in the cacky! [/quote] Reporting blatant ripoff auctions to eBay is frequently a waste of time so I don't suppose they'd do much about this. I did word my response very carefully saying that I was not willing to do business outwith eBay and that he should relist, so I think I'm clean in this respect.
