I'll probably use an old mouse mat so im not asking what to use, but rather if there are any advantages to using Biro springs (for example) over the normal sponge stuff. Cheers. Ou7shined Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 I pretty much just use foam all the time now (less fiddling about) but I find that if you are doing a lot of setting up and trying different things, springs are better as they let the pups "spring" up to your optimal position quicker than foam which can take a couple of minutes to reach full firmness. tommorichards Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 I started using old hose pipe for a "spring" . Although i think 1" rubber hosing is supposed to be better.
