Achieving a certain sound....

Originally there has only been one bass sound that has really blown me away; Andy Rourke on "This Charming Man" and as close as I tried to get with my rig, it sounds good in the band I'm in.

But I re-he-he-he-aly want to give this new Wombats sound a go, with the Warwick as I can't afford an Orange one (boohoo).

So does anyone know how I can achieve this sound through a Warwick Profet and a Classic 50s P??

I used to play with these guys and my best mates are their entire team. I was chatting to them over a pub quiz a few months ago about Tord's sound. They said it was a P into an old Fender Bassman. Surely the Boss Bassman pedal [CLICK] or a Sansamp would get you pretty close.

His sound is that cranked valve, fresh rounds sound. Strings are easy but expensive whereas a second hand BDDI would probably be a cheap and reusable sound.
