1. Can your main effects not fit on a Nano board? Even if you had jacks that didn't take up space like George Ls, and mounting them so they all fit, ie not in a nice neat line.?

The nano and mini are so small it's not really that much more to carry than one Jr.

Never mind. It wasn't bad - the sun came out and there were a fair few people there. The Bodega gig was not bad - a great sound, but fewer people than I was imagining. There were some great other acts too - Alex Motormouf and his superb funky beatbox looping was a highlight for me

I've jammed with that cool cat before quiet a talent

3. Never read so much diatribe in a thread that has nought to do with the OPs question.

I would find the ccorrect frequencies you want to boost before buying a unit that may not do it. And stay away from anything that cheap, it will no doubt be about as usefull as a chocolate fireguard.

4. Any album can go through without skipping a track usually sticks with me.

Rage against the Machine - Evil Empires
Rage Against the Machine - Battle for LA
Blink 182 - Enema of the State
Blink 182 - Take off your pants and Jacket
Alien Ant Farm - ANThology
Alkaline Trio - My shame is true
FIDLAR - Self titled

Maybe one or two others but that all I can think of for now.

5. The lad Macauley Culkin is in some weird pizza themed band, they got boo'd off stage at Rock City.
Michael Cera, actor of divot pilgrim, does actually play bass in some band, I heard they are ok.
Keanu Reeves also plays bass, I ding know if his band is still going.
Him who was lead in Mice of Men and CSI:NY plays bass too.

Im not sure about the strings but I love the flea bass, I still have serious gas for a modulus funk5 in silver! :D

You ruin everything with that extra string. ;)

Gareth, it might not matter to you, but if you set on a search for the ultimate bass, knowing well in advance that this will involve buying and reselling lots of basses, by getting rid of those that didn't meet your expectations, you don't want to do that at a loss do you, you clever clog? Which is why it makes sense that you must try and get most of your money back if not all of it. That my friend, it's simple mathematics and the only way you keep afloat in the game of buying & selling for the purpose of the search which I've described above!

One of the many differences between me and you Gareth, is that I would flog a bass that I've bought and not liked, while you would send it back because there is a scratch on the cardboard box it came in or the box was the wrong colour and the shipping label was glued at a funny angle, or maybe because Strings & Things didn't include Nectar points for your loyalty card. :D

Wow, mood killer.

Anyway.............

Lots if good tones, I was in no way a fiddler. As you either enjoy it's key sound or you don't,by changing pickups etc and choosing active or passive.

It might be worth noting that as mine was an early one it was made of mahogany, and IIRC it sound was a lot darker than whatever the switched too.

Awesome! Now I have pitch shifter GAS.

Full rundown here: http://adamflanagan.wordpress.com/2014/07/19/royal-blood-out-of-the-black-bass-cover/

Ace cheers for that, now I have to buy two POG2s

9. I don't think I fully understand how you've wired them up or what you want to achieve in terms of on or off, or where you have now put the zoom.

If I have it right you have some how fed a parrallel line of effects into the LS2 and are using the main output to the amp?
You want to know if the spare two outputs (one for each loop) will output their own loops signal?

I believe it does but issues will come when the sound guy doesn't want to take two DIs for bass. What with having to spend ages mincing and checking the kit the less he or she has to do for everyone else the better.

Personally I would work on getting the best possible signal coming out of one output.

Ask yourself if you really need the compression on. If so I'd put everything in loop 1 with the zoom at the end, then the octave in the other. Now the octave isn't going yo get compressed

I tend not to descrimate between the two as I think there is a decent viable band or there isn't.
But..I know far more people making, or trying to make a living, playing covers, than the other way round.

They may well be in a function band and getting £1500-2000 for a wedding and if they do that pretty regularly, they are
possibly on course for £15-20k p.a... Throw is a weeks worth of pub type money, plus a few lessons at a school...so regular and salaried,
and they are looking to be getting there.
They don't live too well tho, as if you are down on your 30 plus weddings a year, you are really going to struggle and never make that money up in the year...

On the other hand, I know of an original solo act and he has bought and paid for his house in just over 2 years... no record company backing him..
Probably the hardest working muso, I know.

I very nearly manage it, but there's no room for luxuries of any description.

I have a good friend who is in a jazz covers outfit with his wife - they pull in about £100K a year. . .
There is a massive degree of variation here.
I don't even earn any where near these lower estimates in my regular full time job and I live perfectly happily.

Depending on where you live and how you want to live you could need as little as £200 a week all the way up to £1000.

I would take some of these peoples opinions with a pinch of salt.
