2. There is no specific requirement when PAT testing should be done but you will find most hotels and function rooms will require you to have a certificate even if equipment is brand new! We had to get all our gear done for a function and be aware that includes power leads and extension leads!
3. How do i delete the original price or put a line through it and put in the the reduced price in my post on a for sale item?
4. I'm selling off various gear but seem to be limited to how many photos I can upload so cant do so for each item. Is this right?
5. Yes I thought that was the process but couldnt do so as my post was locked. Thanks

7. Ok, I just wanted others who were interested in the items to know the sale was pending but once sold I wouldve added that. Should I let you know when an item is sold in future?
8. There's loads of live music venues in Hampshire. Fareham. Gosport & Portsmouth probably have the most with more cropping up for covers bands. Always packed in the venues we play at and the audience is a mixture of ages. I suppose it depends on what you play and whether the venue is recognised for live music as to the capacity watching a band.
It's not dying, it's just changed. Original bands don't seem to work as hard - majority of the time, or they'll work hard to a point where they gig every week locally but not venture further afield. The cover bands that are young usually end up changing in to original bands over time, thus not playing the pubs and venues they used to as they look for the original band route. Which leaves you with the weekend hobbyist band - usually older gentlemen and ladies, playing a set that harks back to their youth and the clientele's, whom are of a similar age to the band. Certainly around Portsmouth there are the venues and bands to have a thriving scene, but there's not the organisation and communication to go with it. The pub scene is pretty busy, in fact I'd say it's grown, but it's not young bands that play the pubs as most of the time they're playing original material that just doesn't suit the pub scene. I think it's also down to disposable income. I'm 22 and work 2 jobs, one is as a musician and teacher, and the other is in a supermarket to provide me with the foundations to pay bills etc. In Portsmouth rent is on the lower side of things, you're talking about £700PM for a 2 bed flat/small house with bills, now I can't afford to run a car, a business - as my music and teaching is self-employed, and rent a house on what I earn and then go out to what are expensive pubs - £4 a pint of carlsberg or london pride, that's the average price of most of the pubs I've played at, however, go to a wetherspoons and you get a drink for half that-ish, and that's what a lot of my friends do as most of them have moved out now, or they'll have one big weekend a month spending £150-£200 on a night out, including a meal with their partner/mates and going to the clubs where they can dance or try to pick up women, they value a lively night out rather than sitting in a pub listening to bands play the same old same old. Live music is in a real catch 22 place right now. Pubs are shutting, and grass roots original music doesn't pay and the venues are also shutting, those venues that do live on are usually the ones that know that their clientele want a certain type of music and if there are already 10 bands that play that pub over the year and pack it out, why would untried and young band 11 with a totally different set get a chance to see if they could pack it too, it's too much of a risk for the landlords these days sadly. 17. I have always found thomann reasonable anyway.
18. Hi Marvin, is the UK VAT include on Thomann prices?
You pay UK vat when buying from Thomann, EU law.

You pay UK vat when buying from Thomann, EU law.
19. Hey everyone, just been looking at importing from Singapore but what with Duty & VAT costs I thought if I could find the same bass in the EU it would be a lot cheaper. It appears I'm wrong. Still get hit with VAT. So in others words buying from say the Czech Republic Germany or France is not much cheaper than from Singapore or Japan? Thats friggin crazy. How come I have never paid VAT when buying fro Thomann?
20. Hey everyone, I want to buy a bass from a singapore dealer. Anyone know what it would cost on a bass priced at £600 and shipping costs.at £154? I have been on a couple of sites but its too confusing. Be grateful of any help. Ta
21. Good news....new tutor is amazing! First lesson was really good. I learned a fair bit and have actually started slapping & popping quite well. I can honestly say that whilst books, dvd's etc are ok they can't beat face to face instruction. Having someone there to ask questions and thwart any bad habits is priceless.
22. There may be someone out there who really wants one, has saved up and will play it. That's better than sitting in the case. Putting it up for sale at least gives others the opportunity if they are looking for a quality instrument and investment. Personally, I would rather swap for the 50th anniversary Jazz but the chance of anyone seeking a deal with bass & guitar is few and far between and with both being limited editions even moreso. I'd consider px with a MIJ Fender 75 reissue in red. Alternatively, I will keep it while it increases in value and just buy the Japanese Jazz out of money I saved from quitting smoking. :0)
