2. hi guys thanks for replies... yes it's german-made... i do have more pics, i'll dig some out and post, if not i'll take some more
3. Hi all Just gauging interest as I'm thinking of moving this baby on... I've been out of band action for a few months and struggling to find a new one, so it's hard to justify having this lying around just for practice. Paid £650 used and I'd want that back for it, no offers, been well looked after including a full service this summer. Comes with coffin case. No rush to sell and I'm not open to offers below the asking price. I would be up for a trade for a cheaper Warwick. Couple of dings/scratches, the usual, nothing major at all. Cheers Mark
4. Friday bump, following a very tempting but unsuccessful Warwick Fortress trade offer... looking for cash!
5. Hi all For sale is my Gibson-built Tobias Killer B 4-string bass. Really nice bass... very light with a lovely thin neck, very playable and great tone. Specs: - Swamp ash body with translucent red gloss finish - 5-piece asymmetrical maple neck - Pau Ferro fingerboard - Black chrome hardware - Grover tuners - ABM bridge - Arch-top active Bartolini pickups - Active Bartolini pre-amp with 3-way EQ - Mid cut/boost switch - 34" scale - 24 frets - Push/pull volume pot for slap tone - BRAND NEW handmade black corian nut Just had it serviced and setup by Almuse in Grantham (and when I say "just" I mean I picked it up from the tech lastnight). The receipt for this will be included with the bass. Here's what I had done: - Full setup - New mid cut/boost switch - Couple of saddle screws/springs - New nut as specified above (original was ivory coloured but I specced a black replacement and it looks awesome) The bass comes with an excellent Tobias padded gig bag. Bad bits: - Couple of scratches around the body, very minor, I've pictured the worst - Very light buckle rash You will see from the pictures that the bass EQ knob is missing. The actuator and potentiometer are fine, it's just the knob that's missing. I cannot source an exact replacement so I will be replacing all the knobs with new MXR knobs prior to sale. Shame this has to go as it provides respite from the weight of my Warwick! However I need the money to upgrade my rig and I can't justify having an expensive backup (or so the Mrs says). I'm looking for [s]£500[/s] £450 no offers. Was around £1500 new, last used one to go on here was £750 (a 5-string) so I think the price is more than fair. You're welcome to view the bass before making an offer but please be aware I do not have an amp at home you'll be able to plug into (mine is kept at our studio). I am in Lincolnshire. Please message with any offers/enquiries/questions. I will pack for courier shipping if requested by the buyer, but the courier charges are the buyer's responsibility. As it does not come with a hard case I'd wouldn't recommend having it shipped. I'd prefer face-to-face collection but that's the buyer's call. It's also going on eBay, please do me a favour and buy it through here to save me the fees! Cheers Mark
6. Hi For sale are my GK 400RB-IV head (from U.S.) and my GK BLX115 cab. The cab has an upgraded 500w 4ohm Eminence driver in it. Great sound and versatility from the amp, the cab is capable of top drawer lows (my Warwick sure makes the most of those lows!!). Head has the infamous GK boost knob which adds a real growl to your sound. I bought the head from America and bought a step up/down transformer in order to run it. The transformer is rated at 500w so is more than capable of handling the power of the head safely. I will include the transformer in the sale. Reason for selling is I'd like to downsize, also there is a slight issue with the input volume knob and/or dB clip.... causes sound to crackle and cut out. Probably a connection or something, minor and cheap to fix I'm sure. The rig has gigged with me for the last 2 years - ish - and until now has caused me no issues. Bit of the usual wear and tear on the head. In total the rig (including the transformer) cost me around £400 used, bearing in mind the connection issue I'm looking for £250 ono, I think this is fair. Included in the sale are the head, the cab, the transformer and the U.S. power lead. Please PM with any questions/offers. Cheers, Mark
7. i want this!! would you be up for a trade for a Corvette $$ 5 string? top nick, sea green swamp ash body, wenge neck, black hardware, active EQ, being serviced this saturday. otherwise i'll have to sell it first before i can buy this
8. thanks for all responses guys. I plugged in lastnight to start eliminating reasons and it worked fine straight away. I've changed the battery in the warwick to be safe and checked all the connections in the cab and everything seems fine. perhaps I triggered some sort of cutoff? used the head with a different cab too and it was fine. maybe just one of those things?!
9. Hi all I've done a bit of searching around in this area of the forum but haven't found anything specific to my problem, so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere and I've missed it. I recently bought a Gallien Krueger BLX115 thru Basschat, seller was a sound bloke and has been trying to help me over the last couple of days since I had the issue. I believe him when he says he's never had an issue with this cab/driver before. The cab has been upgraded to a 15" 500w 4ohm Eminence driver. I was gigging with the new cab on Friday night and after a perfect sounding first set (and rehearsal earlier in the week) I was delighted with my new cab. But in the first song of the second set it cut out near the end of the song. I say cut out, it actually went very very very very quiet, only audible if you put your ear right up to the grill. the gig was in a medium-sized bar, running a 300w 4ohm head through the cab, running at about 4 out of 10 volume with bass at about 6/10, treble 5/10 and mid cut down to 3/10. Active EQ on my Warwick was sitting at 5/10 for both bass and treble. Initial worry is a blown driver, but I was under the impression there would some sort of "crack" or "bang" as the driver blew, followed by "farting" sounds. Is this correct? If so I don't think it's a blown driver as it happened silently. Anyone got any ideas? I'm taking the back off tonight to check wiring etc. Any help would much appreaciated!! Cheers Mark
