1. Hey guys,

These have been seeing gradually less action and as such are not being used as much as they should. The Les Paul is in pretty good condition and plays really well, it will come with the original pick guard. I've owned the ID Core 10 from new and as such its never left the house or been pushed at loud volumes but it is more than capable. It's a great little amp which is very versatile and the on board effects are surprisingly good.

  2. Hey guys,

I've had this for a few months now and its a great bass, I finally quashed my Ibanez curiosity and these basses do live up to the buzz they've generated. However, I've seen something on here which would be perfect for me right now. So I'm putting this up to help go towards it and if it doesn't sell then I'll be withdrawing it from sale. The bass is in pretty good condition, it has a few light dings on the outer edges and the rear tip of the lower horn which are clear in the pictures.

  3. I have the SR 1205 Premium, I got it recently and out of 80+ basses it is actually my first Ibanez. I was curious about this line as they seemed to have a more Warwick-esque vibe to them which made them stand out more than the rest of the Ibanez range. I must say I have been pleasantly surprised by the 1205, it does have a Warwick-ish tone but a bit more mid presence which is both good and bad. Playability wise it has been pretty easy to set up and I'm quite happy with the action.

The only negatives I have with the bass is the bridge as it is a nightmare to change the strings, the only other problems are that I find the mids are far too harsh even when set flat, as is the treble, so all three controls set flat gives you a weedy harsh sounding tone. I almost have to cut the mids and treble all together before I get a nice warm tone and then bring them back in gradually. The mid boost switch is a bit redundant IMO, it really doesn't make much of a noticeable difference so I tend to just leave it in the same position. I have been contemplating possibly changing the pick ups and preamp to a full Bartolini set up like the Prestige range as that might smoothen the tone and give me more control.

  4. Evening all,

So I've been lucky enough to come across a Strymon Flint for a good price and couldn't pass on it, so for that reason alone I'm moving on this great reverb pedal. I've had it from new for about 3 months and has lived on my pedalboard so it is in mint condition and as such works perfectly.

  5. Hey guys,

I've had this great pedal for about 2/3 years now and it has served me well throughout uni and for gigs and recording, but I now have a EHX Big Muff so it's time to move this on. As you can see in the pics, it's been used extensively and has seen a lot of action (both me and the previous owner) but everything still works perfectly fine.

  6. Just another big +1 for using Amploft in Bristol. Mike took on my rather faulty GK 700RB and has competley sorted every problem and the amp is now working perfectly, which is even better than when I first received it! So if anyone in the Bristol/South West area needs any amp repair/maintenance then Mike should be your first port of call.

  7. Mike Recently took on my rather faulty GK 700RB a couple of weeks ago and it is now fully functioning better than it did when I first bought it! If anyone in the Bristol/Southwest area is in need of any amp repair/maintenance then Mike/Amploft should be your first choice.

I have a feeling that this may have been mine once upon a time. If so it was one hell of a player. The wenge neck was fantastic, slim and fast like a true old Warwick!

Yours and mine. Such a good bass, I do miss it.

  9. Evening all,

I bought this from P-T-P a few months ago as a back up to my 55-60, it is just as good as my 5 string but I haven't used it much over the last few weeks and now I have driving lessons looming I would like to put some money back in my account. Pete really looked after this bass and as such it is in very good condition, everything works perfectly fine and I can't find any dings or scratches on the body at all. There is a small ding on the back of the headstock which is clear in the pictures.

I'm not really looking to trade but if you have a Squier CV Jazz and some spare cash then I would be interested.

    Thanks,

  10. Evening all,

I bought this about 2/3 months ago and haven't used it as much as I intended, but now I need to make room for few more pedals so it's only fair someone else makes better use out of this great pedal. It's in good condition, it has a few scuff marks around the outside of the pedal which are clear in the pictures. It works perfectly fine and there are no issues with the pedal whatsoever.

    Lovely necks. 500-550 tops, IMHO...
IMO the best thing about the bass as a whole is the neck, everything else about mine was very underwhelming. I'd say £400-£500 is reasonable but nothing more.

    First off, stunning bass!!

However, the OP did mention finance and in defence of PMT, it's not as easy as issuing a refund when technically the finance company have paid for the bass and own the item until it is paid off, even if the item is faulty.

Just for balance, all my dealings with PMT have been equally awful. They took money from me for something they said they could get but turns out they couldn't (which it turned out they'd known from the start) and then made it very difficult to give me back my money (trying to make me take an exchange for the stuff they had in stock instead!). It's a shady way of dealing in my opinion.
It wouldn't be so bad if they actually made a conscious effort to be helpful as opposed to stringing you along for another few months whilst they still have your money. I haven't ever been a fan of shopping in my nearest PMT branch (Bristol) as a majority of the staff are just useless and will flog you anything, also the bass selection is always the same which is very underwhelming. Shopping online turned out to be worse, I wouldn't even want to buy a set of strings from them.

Even now I have this £50 credit note from them to spend, I'm somewhat anxious to see how that will turn out.

  13. After a good 5 months of back and forth between myself, PMT, Dolphin Music, Fender, and Lakland, I've finally taken delivery of my new JO 5. This all started back in april when I bought a brand new american Fender jazz from PMT online, it turned out to be a dud and was also a bit broken, so after requesting a refund and returning the bass (which took about 2 weeks in itself!) I was then offered the same bass now fixed again to which I declined as I had stated I would like a refund. I was then contacted by PMT to see if there were any basses I would be interested in which I said there weren't (Fenders, Ibbys, Squiers, and Sandbergs make up about 70% of what PMT stock) to which they replied that they could get in other basses that they don't stock. So I get contacted again a day later saying that they can order me in a JO5 and that it would be on the same finance as the Fender so I wouldn't need to spend any extra money, I would just have to wait until the beginning of august to receive it.

To cut the rest of the story short, it turns out the bass didn't leave Chicago until August 8th despite being told it was already in the UK. After a lot of phone calls from me and the lack of correspondence from PMT, I finally managed to get them to pull their finger out and they actually did something right. Despite finally receiving a rather apologetic email with a £50 credit note from PMT, this has probably been my worst purchasing experience from an online store. I never want to buy from PMT online again unless it is something I truly needed/wanted and it was going for a good price.

The good news is though that the JO is amazing straight out of the box, this is my third JO and my sixth Lakland now, I can happily say they make far superior jazz basses than Fender IME and would highly recommend them to anyone :)

  14. Evening all,

This was bass was bought from a local player who was pleasant enough to let me try it out through my rig as usually I don't have that luxury being in Somerset. I had recently bought an American Fender jazz which turned out to be a dud, both in construction and tone, so I was quite surprised to find that this bass sounded better even with old strings and a naff set up, I bought it on the spot. After sorting out the set up and putting some fresh strings on it sounded even better and it was a fraction of the price of the US jazz. However, with a brand new Lakland 55-60 incoming and my other jazz still being my go-to bass, I would just like to either get some money back in my account or trade for something different.

I have replaced the original BBOT bridge with a much more solid Gotoh 201 which has really helped increase the sustain and helped with the adjustability of the bass. The overall condition is pretty good, there are a couple of dents which are evident in the pictures but they aren't anything substantial. I've currently shimmed the neck to get the action low enough for my taste but it can still go lower if required.

  15. In the right hands a Stingray can sound fantastic, both warm and defined, but for me a lot of SR players tend to over do it with the treble and mids (amp and pre in some cases) and then it becomes a scooped and harsh tone. Some pick players I know use 'rays and unfortunately have no idea what EQ is and as such have a really nasty tone that is instantly recognisable as a 'ray. Again, with the right know-how and technique they can sound great for anything.
