I currently have one, even though I have replaced it, but I’ll still happily share my thoughts  

I bought mine after watching quite a few different video reviews, at the time I had managed to get through a Darkglass Alpha Omega, Sansamp VT Bass DI, and a Sansamp Deluxe Programmable Bass Driver. Each pedal was great for certain tones, but I struggled to find that perfect type of distortion. The Alpha Omega was far too much of everything and I really struggled to find a sound I liked. The VT Bass was nifty but the drive was more tube like and not gritty enough for me. The BDDI was a bit better, but I found it heavily coloured my tone and that in order to get that Sansamp sound, you had to really compress your tone and I felt I was loosing too much of my tone. 

After a couple of videos of the Battalion, straight away I much preferred the distortion on it, and the added features of compression and a noise gate, as well as an extensive EQ section for both clean and distortion. I managed to sell the last Sansamp and it paid for it comfortably. Straight away when I plugged it in, it felt more neutral, my clean tone wasn’t too coloured by any tube emulation, it gave that tiny bit more control over my tone instead of only relying on the amp. The distortion was instantly more to my taste, it was merely finding the sweet spot for the blend and I was loving it. I used it for in-ear rehearsals many times and never had a problem dialling in my tone. 

The compression is actually pretty good for what it is, I use a TC Spectracomp for my compression so I never needed it too much. The fact you can’t adjust the compression ratio/threshold etc...does put some people off from using it, but set to about 10 o’clock seemed to be the best place for me. The noise gate is a cool extra, but as some reviews make note of, it’s not the best, it’s functional but a bit clunky and can give unwanted noises in your signal chain.  

I’ve only recently replaced it with a Darkglass B7K Ultra V2 after being impressed by the new cab sim options and more options for mid control. So since then it’s been sat on my desk looking sad for it self.

I would recommend it for its price and features alone, it’s a great bit of kit even if you don’t use everything on it.

I just recently traded a Warwick Thumb with Ferenc for a very nice Spector Euro 5. He organised the collection and delivery from Hungary and it all went through perfectly fine. Great communications throughout and I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with him again.

I’ve had this from new since December. It’s been a great pedal and I actually preferred it over to different Sansamps I had prior. I’m only selling it as I’ve replaced it with a Darkglass B7K Ultra V2, so it’s surplus to requirements. 

It’s in pretty good condition, a few tiny knicks here and there but that’s about it. It comes with the box and original psu as well. I can post it for an extra £5.

So tonight I found out the hard way that one of the connectors on one of the 9V battery clips has popped off. I changed the batteries about a couple of weeks ago and didn’t notice anything unusual. I’ve been using the bass perfectly up until earlier tonight whilst I was about to do some recording and suddenly I wasn’t getting any output other than when it was switched to passive mode. It’s only when I got it home and took the batteries out again that I noticed it was missing.

Is it a relatively easy fix or will it require a bit more expertise?

The final part of the pedalboard cull. This is a recent aqquistion and I only really used it in conjunction with my now departed reverb and delay for ambient stuff. As you can see in the pictures, it has seen a fair bit of action, but it all works perfectly fine. Unfortunately I don’t have the original box or the PSU, so it will be sold as it is seen.

So I’ve managed to sell up most of what was on my board and I’m left with the pedalboard itself and the Ernie Ball VP Junior. The board has seen a lot of use and is the now discontinued model which came with the hardcase which will come supplied. It still does what it was made to do and it comes complete with the plastic plugs as well. The VP junior is used as well, it works fine most of the time but occasionally it would make a bit of noise, but it hasn’t done that in a while and it might’ve been down to something else in the chain.

Any Spector Euro 5’s out there?

Hey all, 

So a while ago I went through a bit of an ambient phase, so after scoring the Flint secondhand from the first owner about 3/4 years ago now. It has always been my go to reverb pedal as the 80’s reverb mode is perfect for that synth-like pad and amazing decay. I’ve had other high end reverbs (Neunaber, TC electronic, Strymon Blue Sky) and it was never topped. 

The Canyon I’ve had since they were released last year, after watching the promo video I knew it would be perfect to go with the Flint. Such a fun little pedal with loads of modes to play with.

Unfortunately they’re seeing less and less use and it would be nice to maybe erase the need for a large pedalboard and go back to more bass related effects.

Both come with the original boxes and the Strymon will come with the correct PSU.

I would be open to trades for a good envelop filter, maybe a Darkglass B7K or a Squier CV Jazz bass.

I’ve had a couple of SS1’s before and I know they’re quite different tonally. Streamers have always been the all-rounder, they can do a bit of everything but still have that signature Warwick growl and high end clarity, they take far less work to make them work in a mix due to the mids being far less as intense. That’s pretty much exactly what I need right now

The pup placement can take some getting used to but have you considered a thumb rest?

I have a Streamer S1 5er as well and again it's a very special bass but the tones are not really comparable IMO

I would hate to spoil the bass by adding a thumb rest. I knew beforehand that it might be problematic but I wasn’t involved in a project which required using the B as often, otherwise using it every now and again wasn’t an issue. Also, the mids can prove to be quite tricky as well as it is a very growly specimen!

So this is more of a feeler right now. It’s my dream bass but it isn’t quite working in my current project as I’m using the B string more frequently and it’s starting to get problematic due to the pick up positioning. 

Ideally I’d like to replace it with a Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5 String, I’d be open to a Sadowsky or Spector 5 string trade as well. 

It’s a 2000 model, so it is just about 18 years old but it has really been well looked after by its previous owners. There are a few very minor dings here and there which I’ll try to show in the pictures. The electronics/hardware all work perfectly fine.

Lately I’ve been seriously pining after my old GK rig, as it was the only rig I can recall always enjoying the tones I got with any bass. This is a great sounding rig and I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to finally own a bit of Aguilar and Ampeg gear, but I feel that GK has my sound, or it’s far more easy to achieve at least. 

The Ampeg is in good condition, a little bit of light scuffing and few knocks, but overall it’s pretty good. The only issue is that the speakon connectors at the back don’t work, this was a issue that the previous owner came across, but the jack inputs work perfectly fine. It will also come with a padded cover.

I picked this up brand new from Guitarguitar in Birmingham at the end of October and it has only had mild use since then. I much prefer this over the Nano Bass Big Muff, it has way more girth and really does fill out your sound. I’m only selling this as I’ll be replacing it with a EHX Battalion and I need to make some space on my pedal board.
