They're not available until later in April in the UK/Europe unfortunately. The US have clearly been prioritised.
I pre-ordered it and look forward to run it through its paces in practice. On paper it's got everything I need in a preamp.

Think it’s now on my hit list. This or the Two Notes Revolt? Similar form factor, price, features. If anything, the Ampeg seems to have more appealing can sim features!

  2. I wanted a BB for a while when I was much younger just because Michael Anthony played one. Had no idea if it was good or bad and didn’t give it any thought at the time. Still have never played one.

looking at how well received the Revstar six string is across all its price ranges and I really like the aesthetics, I’d love to see a bass guitar version of that shape, with the body upsized a bit to keep the proportions correct.  That’s something I’d save up for and buy.

  3. Hiya everyone.

So, band has been going for over ten years (we’re mid forties) We are all friends and have just finished writing and recording our third self made album. We are dedicated hobbiests, rather than a band looking to make it. We play a handful of live shows a year.

Our drummer has decided to look for a covers band and earn some money for drumming duties so has decided to leave us.

Having a look around the usual websites following a Google search and direct messages some of the more likely contenders and nothing back at all.

Any suggestions on finding a drummer in any other way?

that's a beauty of a P - i got a lovely aged white gone cream CIJ from GAS STATION - had to spend cash with luthier to sort neck bend and electronics which they refunded me - so agreed should spend more time sorting before sending but good prIces and really good selection of stock

Thanks Duroc.  I had a gig with it a couple of weeks ago and it did not disappoint. It was lovely actually. Teams up very well with my Genz Streamliner and Hudson Broadcast that I use to add a little bite to each note. Sounds great with fingers or a plectrum. Very pleased with it indeed.

  5. I’ll be playing with my band, Sula Sula, at Behind the Wall in Falkirk on 9th Sept. Two half hour sets (first at 8 ) playing mostly originals with the odd cover.

Won’t have any amps or drums mic’d up, so just vocals through the PA so it’ll be interesting to see how the sound goes.

Given there are basically no US Fenders for sale in the UK (well the odd ex demo and one or two left over, probably dogs no-one bought), Fender UK has pretty much nothin available and even Thomann are quoting several months, then they won’t be servicing that demand for a while to come. Maybe they are prioritising the US as Ernie Ball did for a time (some stock seems to be coming through recently after a long drought)?

Seems GuitarGuitar have more left handed than right handed😂.  A couple of nice used right handed basses seem to be it!

Strange one, this. You don't lay off that amount of employees unless there's something seriously wrong. I wonder what's going on?

I reckon they’ve enjoyed the boom too much and made far too many guitars and basses of certain models lines. Now the shops and their warehouses are full of them and they’ve saturated the market so don’t need to make as many now.

The grain in the neck pocket does look like alder to me. Gorgeous P! Congrats!

Thanks very much. It is lovely, isn’t it.

my new found set up issue is that I don’t really know what to do with the funny threaded saddles. I’m finishing it difficult to get strong spacing even across the bridge. Is there a knack to it?

  9. That looks awesome. I’ve just got hold of a cij on-62 and it’s ace. I’d say a step up in tone from my American Special. The neck on the American Special is ace and this is too in a different way. A bit more depth but just as easy to find my way around. Can’t fault the build quality. Hope it goes awesome.

  10. Resurrection of this thread as I’m gutted that my new bass has received its first major ding. It’s been relatively unmarked for 18 years until I received it this week. Distraction caused by children (please let the summer holidays end) has led to this. Dent with paint broken at the trough of the dent. Photo makes it look bigger than it is, but it’s on the top bought so really visible.

is this the type of thing that gluboost is designed to repair?

That's a cracking bass, really cool colour. I think the PB62 US models have an alder body?

Just had a look at their site and they have some great looking basses. I love the Japanese reissues, every one I've ever played has been fantastic.

It’s strange. I thought they had alder bodies too, but the advert said Ash. Probs just a typo.

only issue now is that a couple of the saddle screws don’t want to budge and they have pretty shallow and narrow slots. Recon I’ll have to try a penetrating oil if some sort…anyone any recommendations?

Not heard of that dealer before!

Shall keep an eye on the site!

    Si

Yeah, I would do. I wish I had more money to spend. There are some beautiful basses and guitars on there. Based in Taunton. Was shipped next day with parcelforce and seemed to have been very well looked after in transit. No scrapes or bashes on the box.

    Lovely bass.

I'd be tempted to message @KiOgon about fitting one one of his excellent wiring looms if there are any issues with the electrics. In fact they're a great improvement even if there isn't.

Thanks. I’ve cleaned up with contact cleaner and a wee rub. Seems better now. I think this bass has been sitting gathering oxides and dust in someone’s lift for a few years as even the strings seem to be covered in a fine layer of yuck.  Have cleaned those up too until new strings arrive today.

Out of interest, what does the kiogon wiring loom do?
