6.
What's the scale length on the Overwater?
Hi Owen, It's a mighty 36", so no flabby low B! Mike E.
 7.
Any pics/more info on the carbon fibre bow? Is it one of the Chinese eBay ones? How old is the hair on it? And does the £40 include shipping? Thanks!
Hiya, Yes, it is one of the Yitamusic ones. Seems pretty well-made, and quite light. The bow itself is about 18months old so I assume the hair is a bit older than that but I don't know. Hair is in good condition. Dunno what the postage is to Glasgow, I'll have to check with the Royal Snail. If it's not too exorbitant I could include it in the price, but if they're feeling greedy I'd add it on. Cheers, Mike E.
 8. Hi All, Due to various financial and musical reasons (F'rinstance, I'm no longer gigging, AND I've got a classic VW that needs restoration:) ), it's time to move out some gear. NS CR4M - Relisted for various reasons. Ned Steinberger electric upright bass. In great condition, never been outside a rehearsal room. Currently strung with D'Addario Helicore Hybrid strings. Comes with tripod stand, otional endpin stand (rrp around 200 quid normally) and the NS gigbag. Get yourself some serious upright action (F'narr missus). 900 of your Earth Pounds. Hungarian 3/4 size double bass. WITHDRAWN - I've decided to keep this. Pics of the basses at http://www.pbase.com/bassworm/bass_stuff. I am of course open to offers, but no trades please, I need the cash! And if anyone wants to try anything out, you're welcome to do so. I'm in Herts, near St Albans. All the best, Mike E.
 9. In 2004 I was in a queue to get a flightcrew visa at the US embassy in London. Next to me was Ralph Fiennes, and further up the queue from us was Muse and their road crew (with Matt Bellamy looking VERY grumpy).
 10. I've bought my strings from USAnia in the past, either from Ebay or from Bob Gollihur's site, which is where my current set of Corellis (Which I'm loving a lot) came from.
 11.
Well it looks like I'll be picking me Aria Swb up next week and it suddenly dawned on me, when Im gigging where can I put when im playing me electric bass?? Is there such a thing as an EUB stand??? I really dont want to resort to leaning it against a wall!!!
Dunno if you can get in in this country but Aria do make a stand for it. 12.
Hi all, I have just borrowed a DB off my local music service. Its a Zeller hybrid-carved front, lam back/ribs. I need this bass for a gig and show next week!! When I recieved the bass, the D string was broken. The D is the same thickness as the A string on other basses I have borrowed. Does anyone have any spare DB strings? Either a D string to suit, or a full set? Some that have been used and just stuck in the drawer, 2nd hand? I dont want to pay much really for these, if at all, Ideally Id like to borrow a string, as Im trying to get them to buy a replacement. Not sure how long that'l take though? Let me know if you can help! Cheers! Matt
Matt, I have an old set of D'Addairos in the house if you wish, that you can have for nowt. Just pm me your address. Mike E.
 13. Graham Maby (Joe Jackson Band)- Mark Bedford (Madness) Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello) All of the above are in my opinion, criminally underrated. Mike E.
 14.
Allo Fiends! er sorry, Friends! Just to let you all know that E Basses will be officially relaunched at Music Live at the NEC later this week - we are sharing a stand with Vanquish Guitars - I'm helping out on the stand on Friday and Saturday so if you get chance, pop on over! Ian's new basses are excellent - he's really doing a great job! Here's the temporary web site we cobbled together: http://freewebs.com/ebasses Be good to meet up! Nick
Yay! Great news Nick. You'll be glad to know I still own and use my Hornet and Aztec regularly, and sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. 16.
I'm looking at this SNIP! Thoughts, comments, abuse all welcomed
I bought one of these when I first started playing. I had a few qualms about buying from China but the service and the delivery were excellent. The bow turned out to be a nice piece of gear, light and fairly well balanced with good horsehair. I still use it occasionally though my main bow is a Bob Gollihur brazilwood bow these days. Hope that helps, Mike E.
 17. Michael John Edmunds was born, but refuses to use that as an excuse. Despite being Welsh, he has managed to grow up a reasonably well-adjusted bloke and not at all interested in sheep, coal or male voice choirs. Mike is an indifferent, and completely talentless bass guitarist and double bassist, who compensates by buying expensive gear he can't afford, thus depriving his family of food and shelter. Mike has been described by no less a cultural icon than Charlotte Church as "Never y'eard of 'im". When not thrusting parts of his body into other peoples aeroplanes, Mike can be found in a darkened room thinking of excuses why he isn't practicing his bass licks and rueing the day he got a real job. Mike never does any DIY. If he can get off his lazy arse, Mike will be the new bassist with blues band Crosseyed Cat.
