like i said i haven't try on DB,but to reproduce the exact tone to me only the Walter Woods,but thats the bass amp.

i could be wrong but it looks like it have been painted years ago. the best thing its definitely take it to a luthier,meanwhile perhaps you should take few more pics.

i've heard from a friend of mine that the Mesa Boogie Walkabout 300 its perfect for both. i tryed it on electric bass only and love the sound but never on my DB. i can tell about my Marbass AC101 combo,its amaysing for both,and when added a external speaker even better. cheers.

does anyone tryed the Markbass AC101? I have one and its the best natural sounding i ever heard,and ive Gallien's included the MB200. this is another championship,the first league.

it looks like the scale might be other wood the ebony. i'll say because my 1950 Dbass made in URSS has the same color tone.
