1. don't know if this counts but in this vid you can see and hear my two jack 10's (no tweeters) (Bod XT pre and crappy power amp) using a LMKIII to run them now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4T4MO0Du0U

  3. OK my interest has been peaked... I've got to try me one of those damned sansamp boxes and I've got a couple of handmade DHA VT's so it's time to see if anyones interested in some swapsies option 1: DHA VT1-STD-Bass (made 2004, silver pedal below) with vintage mullard ECC83 (or various other valve choices) for your sansamp BDDI or sansamp VT (version 1) option 2: DHA VT1-EQ-BASS-DRIVE (made July 2011, black pedal below) with stock valve (electro harmonix I think) for a sansamp VT version 2 or if there's another combination, give me a shout (although I don't seem to be getting message notifications from BC, I'll keep checking the thread) cheers Gary

    SOLD

no worries tell you what you may want to try though, changing the valve in your ashdown... I don't know what they have as stock, but using either a 5751, an ecc82 or a different make ecc83 makes a huge difference the 82's are a lower distortion, but a nice vintage mullard (if you can get one for a good price, watch out for the chinese reissues) was like someone had taken a blanket out of the speaker ... it can get a bit addictive though

    SOLD

I've got the VT1-EQ-Bass-Drive (and the standard without the EQ) the standard was made in 2004, the EQ I got last year... and no funky colour scheme, its black and silver

    SOLD

its pretty good for sitting in front of my amp and dialling in either a fat valve sound or a full on distortion, its pretty transparent tonally but being a real valve, it also can be set to break up nicely when I dig in I've got it in front of a LM III and it lets me get most everything I need... I've just got two, which is a bit of overkill changing the valve makes a nice difference in the distortion, I've got an ecc82 in one (which is low distortion) and an ecc83 in the other, I'd say switching it in for a bit of dirt would be an ideal setup
  7. yep I like the black, although I think Dave, whilst being a lovely bloke and awesome maker of pedals, paints them with a dog or something... ..or maybe he just wears them as body armour whilst playing paintball with colourblind monkeys... don't expect a powdercoated finish, I guess the thick runs of paint make up for where the dog missed bits you'll love the sound, no matter how it looks...
  8.
Those are actually the options I'm considering... Would you mind posting photos of both to help me decide? 8)
here you go don't ask me why it's upside down??!?
  9.
That's the one I'm eyeing to be honest, but if there was some simulator not using a valve from some brand I'd prefer that, so I wouldn't need a 12v PSA... You think Dave will paint it black on request? (hate those finishes)
Got mine in black and silver writing, although I actually quite like the bare metal one I have as well (if the writing didn't wear off

    SOLD

Would you be interested in a DHA tube pedal? I've got two and have a hankering to try a vt for a while I think I've even got a mullard valve knocking around somewhere that you can have as well
  11. I got a DHA from ebay, had a high pitched hum... tried various things including changing one of the voltage regulators (BTW Dave was awesome considering this was a second hand pedal, really responsive) it turned out it was the power supply, get one from rapidonline (the maplin switched 12v was the problem) I can get you the part number if you need it
  12.
not sure how much theyre worth, if you have a price in mind just let me know
Thanks for the reply DHA stuff is a bit eccentric visually, but the hand build, electronics and sound are immense here's a link to the modern equivalent (mine was built August 07, they're all signed and dated) http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page17.html mine has a plain metal case (VT1-std-bass) and doesn't have the colour switch but it does have the boost and bright switches, so it's kind of a cross between the VT1-bass-drive and the MK3-bass... do a search on this forum for some reviews of DHA stuff, they're pretty awesome The valve is another thing entirely and I'm a bit loath to part with it , it's a Mullard ECC83 longplate from the 50's - 60's which is considered one of the best you can get compared to modern valves, it does have a lovely warm sound and a very nice break up when you push it, I'll also throw in another valve if you want to try some 'valve rolling' choices are: modern Electro Harmonics 12AX7 valve (ECC83 equiv, different sounding than the vintage stock, but nice, it's the stock valve for the pedal) a vintage Mullard ECC82 (less gain than the 83, so you need to push harder to break it up, nice fat tube sound) NOS (new old stock) JAN Phillips 5751 again, a different sound than the Mullard I paid between £20 and £50 each for the tubes (the mullard ECC83 was the most expensive) and I'd be happy with £60 for the pedal, so I'd chuck in £35 for you to get a 12v power supply (they're not that much, but it'd be better you getting it from rapidonline than me ) to recap... DHA pedal + vintage mullard ECC83 (sob) + 1 other valve of choice + £35 = your sansamp let me know if you're interested Gary
  13.
Hello, and thank you for your interest, in advance. I would prefer to trade it... but if you're really interested in buying it, leave a PM with an offer, please, and i'l get back to you. JP
Don't suppose you'd be interested in selling the sansamp as well would you? Only thing I've got to trade is a DHA Tube overdrive with an old EC883 Mullard yellow in it (I've upgraded to the bass drive EQ so it's a bit redundant) Cheers
