If I were closer I’d take it off you.

Very quirky! How do you anchor the strings at the bridge? Do you have to buy specific strings with a loop? Or does the screw go through them?

Would have this off you if it wasn’t collection only - a drive to Bishop’s Stortford would be uneconomical and probably technically not allowed.

Retracted. My guitarist loves this thing. Thinking of giving it away to him.

I’d snatch this off your hands immediately, just for the spare drivers, but the distance from Sheffield is a bit more than I can justify for ‘spare speakers’.
Happy to wrap it in cardboard for you if you arrange a courier!

I started on six, so I’m still pretty comfy on one. I find floating thumb technique helps a lot.
I still find slap on it a challenge - it’s fine doing standard pentatonic slap patterns, but anything more scalic is tricky as it requires careful muting with both hands.

Pretty unusual bass!

Starting a feedback thread as there doesn’t seem to be one yet.
Michael was responsive and made the transaction straightforward. Item was well packed and shipped quickly. Would buy again.

No less a legend than Lee Sklar says he thinks of five string as a four with a few extra notes. If it’s all right for Lee, I guess it’s all right!

FInally got round to taking the pre out of mine and wiring it passive - volume/volume/tone - brilliant! Was hunting for pickups but I don't think I'll bother, rolling tone off just a touch and its perfect. No noise either!
Ooh interesting. Have a Glockenklang ready to go in, but this sounds like a viable option. Good to hear that the pickups are good.

I’m still waiting for something that cleanly isolates the lowest note played and then replicates it an octave lower, for when o play skinny-string on my own. I had high hopes for the OC5, but from what I’ve heard it’s not great at this.
Hoping they crack it on this or something at some point.

Sold my KSD to James, he was a gentleman and made the transaction quick and easy. Thanks again!

Second transaction with CameronJ, purchasing a beautiful stage piano from him. Super quick and easy transaction. Thanks again, buddy!

This has now sold to a happy new owner.

@originalfunkbrother hasn’t been on the site since June 2020, in case that helps anyone.

I remember seeing ads for these for £1100 new.

Hey mate, what’s the impedance, hard to see from pics? Cheers. Chris
As @E sharp says, 5.3ohms. You’d run it from the 4 ohm speaker output on most amps, it makes negligible different to the amp output section. I used to use it with a Shuttle 9.0 or MB800 very comfortably.

If I wasn't at the other end of the country I'd have had this straight off your hands at £200!
I’m happy to wrap it up for any buyers willing to arrange for it to be collected!
