Up for sale is this wonderful looking and playing Ibanez 5 string. Its my third exploration into 5 string and on this one felt at home right away. Only putting up for sale as there is something else i want on here which suits my current band better, if it doesn't sell quickly I'll happily withdraw!

It has quite a narrow string spacing but didn't take long to get used to, Bartolini MK1 pickups, Bartolini MK1 3-Band EQ, Accu-Cast B20 bridge and an arched topped body of figured maple fitted with a 5pc maple/bubinga thru-body neck.

It's hardly been used bought it on here a while back and only used it twice. It works fine, no signal loss but I don't move enough to warrant a wireless!

Bump before eBay - now had the mystery confirmed from the serial numbers, its a Mexican jazz body with a 70s reissue neck, so just the headstock refinished.

whole bass must have been done as its not a standard body colour for the model.

I don't know much about the refin i'm afraid, how can i tell if its nitro?

Its only the headstock where i think you can tell its a refin, as someone on here mentioned it is slightly over the edge and the decal doesn't look like its under the laquer but its a very good job.

This doesn't have a graphite support in the neck according to the spec, and does have a c shape neck profile

After reading the fender blurb now sure this is a c shape neck! it is very slim shallow and fast to play and has the gloss finish.

Would be interested in a p bass trade.

I guess its a u shape? Its definitely shallow and very comfortable, i had a us deluxe which had a thicker neck back to front, which i assume would be a c shape.and its mz9 so yes 2009.

Not sure why the precision ashtray, that's just how it came!

The bridge also has the grooves on the saddles so you can adjust the string spacing, if this adds any clues as to the model, I am still none the wiser!

I have taken a picture with pickguard and control plate off which I can mail anyone if wanted, as i have gone over my upload limit.

I have added a couple more photos one of which has the serial number and made in Mexico on the back of the headstock. following a chat with another member, we have both wondered if it could be a respray, as the decal appears to be over the paint as opposed to under the laquer. Everything else about it suggests a 70s reissue so I would be very interested if anyone can provide further information on it!

I would say it was candy cola, i know there was a US 75 reissue in this colour

i would rather not ship outside of the UK at the moment Arpi, as it has a padded gig bag, not case.

It is around the 9lb mark, I will weigh it more accurately tonight.

Serial number is on the back of the headstock, will check that when i get home from work tonight. I have tried to Google it to find the model but not come up with anything.

Bit of a feeler on my MIM jazz bass, i have seen something i fancy for sale on here so am putting this up for sale /possible trade while it is still available. Will be putting this on eBay soon, would rather sell on here so if anyone wants it I will accept £350.

It is a fender Mexican body with a 70s reissue neck and hardware. The headstock has been refinished to match the candy apple red body. It is a very good match.

I have had this confirmed by fender from the neck and body serial numbers, took a while to get to the bottom of the origins.

Anyway here are a few photos, its in very good condition, just a small ding smaller than a 5p near the strap button.

weight is 9.6lb

I had both, and have kept the dj skyline, i find the smaller body size more comfortable!

Thinking of trading or selling my early 90's stingray, black with maple board, classic flea era. I have owned since new and been through a fair amount of gigs with it. I know i will miss it, but it has sat under my bed for 5 years as i seem to just play my jazz.

It has got a lot of 'character' to it, many bumps, bruises and tarnishing, but purely cosmetic.

I have tried to show the wear in the photo, but happy to provide more via email.
