  1. Looking for £115 now, posted. Cheers

Px with an origin bass rig super vintage cash your way would work for me as well.

Selling this as I haven't managed to get it to jive with my set up. Price includes postage. Pedal is in absolutely ace condition, velcro underside. Doesn't include DG box but I have some pretty sweet pedal size boxes to post it safely. Should me with any questions. Thanks

Ok, the decisions have been made.
Elf: I’ve had this since last Christmas, it’s remarkable, I use it every week at rehearsal, and it slides into the pocket of my gig bag. No brainer, it stays, and it’s a handy backup.

Aguilar: I thought I would like this more than I did. On balance of all factors, it was in the end my least favourite amp of the four. It has a baked in tonality as a starting point which I found myself trying to dial out. It would be a great rock amp I think. I just didn’t bond with it. It sort of made all my basses sound the same too.

Mark Bass: This has been my main amp for nearly two years, it’s solid, reliable and always sounds good. I had some doubts about it on a recent gig, and felt it just didn’t have enough oomph. My fault probably, running just one MB 2x10 at 8 ohms on a big stage with nothing back in the monitors. But that’s what got me thinking about another amp. I do like MB gear, and I think it sits well in a mix. Every time I see a band using one, I think the bass sounds good.
Bergantino Forte D. My first experience of these, and it feels like a step up from a regular amp. It’s lush, complex, breathy, open, powerful, and all round just better than everything else. It’s also very simple to use. It really brings out the character of each of my basses, my ‘73 Jazz has never sounded so much like a classic jazz bass, and my P basses just sound huge through it. The drive control does not affect the overall volume, it just adds that extra grit as you dial it in. I’m using it very sparingly, max 9 o’clock. This paired with a Barefaced Super Compact is what I’ve settled on. I can add a One10 too if I feel the need (usually used with the Elf).
The Mark Bass rig has been sold already to a fellow forum member without advertising it. The Aguilar is in the classifieds.
In writing this, I am aware that I lack the vocabulary to describe my experience. Talking about tone, is a bit like dancing about food. Anyway, there you go.

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for your thoughts. That's really unhelpful as I've been looking at the berg, enjoying what I've heard, but thought something else might fill the void 😂

I need to try one out I think - are you gigging at all/ rehearsing? Always interesting when these are put in a mix ✌️

  3. Had a run of four southern dates last weekend from Thursday to Sunday as part of my doom bands recent album launch.

Played B2 Norwich,  club 85 Hitchin, the Gryphon Bristol and Komedia Brighton.

New material we'd only outed once live prior, and we ran two of the four gigs ourselves which added a bit of extra admin and messing around. That said, it was an awesome little run, well attended and we played pretty well (or at least it felt right on stage).

Also had probably the best sound guys I've experienced every night which was awesome. Got to crank out amps a bit which was reeeeally nice.

Sadly I had my first major live technical hitch mid set. Lost my bass signal between about minute 3 to minute 9/10.... Went through cables, patching, amp, Di box.... Think the gremlin was the bass...maybe the battery as it's active, but once I'd got my signal back, I was then too afraid to move for fear of losing it again - not great when you're only playing one 43 minute song 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, remainder of the nights were ace and back out next weekend in London.

Just thought I'd share. Bristol and Brighton pics. ✌️

  4. Got a short run of dates with Gévaudan promoting our latest album Umbra starting towards the end of next week. For fans of doom/ psychedelia - fans of pallbearer/ YOB/ Warning / black Sabbath/ pink Floyd  type vibes.

Our latest album is a single 43 minute track exploring depression through eldritch horror - pretty epic. Music links and list of dates and venues below, thanks ✌️

  6. Pretty interested in the bass option. The threat of an amp has been a loooong time coming. For me a built in power amp with option for the cab to be active or passive would be ideal... Have to wait and see as I've never been very accurate when speculating.

...disappointed it wasn't a bass solution of sorts first.... Depends what's coming though I guess.

  7. NOW ASKING £1,200

    Hi,
I've decided to move on my Matamp GT150 as I use my GT200 exclusively now. The GT150 has had very light use during my 3 year ownership and is in great condition. Black sleeve is perfect as well. Looking for £1,500. (See price update at top)

    Key features:
    - 150 watts with a customisation to switch to half power (75 watts)
    - pre valves 3x JJ ECC83
    - power valves 4x gold lion kt88
    - 4 & 8 ohm speakon outputs (I have a speakon to jack cable I'll include)
    - customised top handles to make it even easier to move
    - includes roqsolid dust jacket cover

These are £2,239 without cover on matamp and I think they're paused on production due to parts currently. Collection or handover for this as I won't post. I'm going to be on tour as far as Brighton, London, Bristol and Norwich. I'm based near Wellingborough, work in Bedford and rehearse Stevenage way so there's some options.

I also have a flight case I could sell as part of a deal if of interest.

Drop me a line with any questions.

    Thanks very much

  8. Haven't gigged since march, but we released a new album yesterday and had a launch party gig in London at the fiddler's elbow. Typically fraught and hectic as we were managing the night, but blew the cob webs off and played pretty reasonably. Album seemed to go down well - single 43 minute concept track/album... here's part of the intro. ✌️

Some shameless self promotion again but my bands second album, Umbra, is launched today on Vinyl, CD and all digital formats. Single track, 43 mins...reasonably epic :)

  10. My band, Gévaudan, have a new album coming out and we're celebrating by hosting a night in Camden at the Fiddler's Elbow on Friday 13 October.

We're essentially a doom band, but with a lot of 70s and psychedelic influences. Solid line up with some good friends, who all play some pretty mean riffs.

  11. In case anyone's interested,my band Gévaudan, have a small slither of new music out by way of a preview....full album due in October. We decided rather than create a few songs on an album, we'd just do one over 43 mins.  ✌️

  12. What sort of music do you play? I'm surprised your going for a 'subby' sound if you're playing a retro 210 as they roll the lows off to provide that vintage vibe.

Do you want it to sound subby, or do you want it to sound like a 'normal' low B?

I found the meatbox unless everything was cranked and you wanted to all out sub, was a little unversatile / less effective.

not sure if a more standard octaver would do what you need?

    just a thought :) ✌️

  13. Svt in a box. Cab SIM, Di, awesome bit of kit. Elected to change my home set up to something less practical.

Comes with box and manual. Velcro on back. Price includes standard postage, or can meet Wellingborough, Stevenage way....or london kings cross on Saturday.

Thanks, any questions let me know ✌️
