Yeah, they are quite rare, but I picked one up on here for just under £50. If you see one at a reasonable price, buy it. You won't be disappointed!

I certainly will
thank's Higgie.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here even though I have the Subdecay Prometheus, an original Mutron, and the FX25 which are all being recommended here, and say - Keep your eye out for a Boss FT-2. It's easily one of the most useable and musical envelope filters I've ever used. Bought it on a whim fairly cheap second hand, and was blown away by how good it sounds on bass.

The FT-2 probably rarer than hens teeth-it might be ages before 1 appears, but I will probably be on the lookout for a GR2,
As far as the EHX stuff is concerned I will probably avoid as I'm not keen on the vol.boost when switched on.

3. Thank's for all the replies-I'm leaning towards the 3 leaf GR 2,
Going off what everyone has said and the reviews on u choob it looks like that'll be the one for me,
now to keep a beady eye out in the Effects FS section .
Thank's to all for helping me with yet another bout of Gas. :gas: :gas:

4. Thank's for the info guys
The 3 Leaf Audio blows the MXR clean away.
on a personal note I'm steering clear of the EHX stuff as they give one hell of a volume boost when switched on-they've caused me no end of probs in the past.
the GR2 looks interesting, tho'as does the Proton.
going to have a look on yoo choobe at the Source Audio
I'll be keepin an eye out in the "Effects for Sale section"

5. Evening all,
just recently I've been thinking of getting one of these little boxes of funk on my board,I already have the Digitech BSW but I'm looking for something with more funk,
I liked the sound of the 3 leaf groove regulator, but i also like the MXR M82,but I also fancy one of the Iron Ether pedals-but that one may be a little out of my range at the moment.
Spoilt for choice or what!!!!
Cash is a bit tight at the moment so im on a bit of a budget-
any thoughts out there.?
thank's in advance.

G ot all my strings from Status for the last couple of years, Excellent prices, range and service and I can order when I have the time.
Promenade is a hundred mile round trip for me, but it's worth it for something big and new,
Gary is excellent.

I ended up getting a set of flats from Status-very reasonably priced and free delivery(i think)-ordered them on a saturday, just after starting this thread actually and they arrived on tuesday-cant say fairer than that can ye.

you gotta be kidding me-smells a bit fishy-check the bids out.two identical bidders on both of these multifx units
or just drunken bidding?i think not.

edit-for typo

8. The staff in the Manchester Branch are particularly helpful,(a pleasant chap by the name of Tony couldnt have been more helpful)
I bought a Squier VMJ last year-got a good deal and with a price match they even took it into the guitar tech for a set up while i was there for a bit of tweaking to my taste.
I've been in a few times since, sometimes just for a mooch or a purchase.

9. my current must learn bassline is Aint no stoppin us now by Mcfadden and whitehead
this song really pushes my "envelope"as I am learning a whole new technique-and iAM NOW APPRECIATING THE GROOVE THAT THESE GUYS laid down,Awesome playing on this track,

I hate when I order something and I'm forced to use DHL. The worst courier service in my opinion. I had all sorts of problems with them. Their tracking system is just for show. And they love to drop your stuff anywhere just to get rid of it. Customer service is the worst in history. Hopefully Thomann will sort it out for you. Good luck!

Yep me too-If a store advertises that they use DHF..kinell as a courier then I wont use 'em

None of the music shops in Bolton stock flats at all, i've checked in all 3 (Well 2.5 in my eyes really). I ended up being given my Picato's on here.

I've previously bought strings online and have been more than happy with the service and quality with both suppliers that I have used(New strings Direct+Stringbusters)But as I was in town today I thought that I would show some support to our local retailers, alas It wasnt to be.

12. This morning I called in at one of our few surviving music shops with the intention of purchasing a set of flatwounds for one of my basses.
Assistant replies err we dont stock them-dont get much call for 'em,
But we can order them in.....
no thank's I replies I just called in on the off chance.
no problem if you want a drum kit, heads, etc even roundwound strings(rotosounds only tho')but a measly pack of flats not a chance-I might as well have asked for an SB1 Deep Impact.
anyone else had this problem recently?
I could go to another music superstore I know of in Bolton,But them robbing a@#eholes are'nt getting a penny out of me no matter how desperate things get.
so its either a trip to Manchester or do a bit of online shopping.

13. I used to do everything for an early band i was in,
Book gigs, hire van, posters etc, then i got tired of cancelling gigs-whether it was pubs cancelling or band members deciding to book a holiday or any other lame excuse, these days we let the singer book the gigs (I just bring the pa),as he knows when he;s free at weekends but even now its a hard slog despite everyone passing on contacts, we have 3 gigs for next year 1 a wedding-friend of the singers and 2 at one venue-not even a gig on nye this year-why do I bother,
I may as well take up feckin stamp collectin'

14. FECKIN GREAT TUNE=LIZZIES VERSION IS AWESOME
BUT CHECK OUT MOTORHEADS ATTEMPT-SEEN 'EM DO IT LIVE-BLOWS THE COBWEBS OUTTA YER EARS-TURN IT UP LOUD
SORRY 'BOUT CAPS=LOCK KEY IS STUCK

15. Heard this on more than one occasion from our singist-
I need to cancel the next gig at ...... ....... as I'm going out with gf as it's her b.day(cue inward sinking feeling)
or no we cant do that gig as we have one on the day before-(ffs its why we do this stuff to play live, not to just rehearse).
