I don't believe they fetch much. I have a couple lying around somewhere...

  2.
Just thought I'd post a pic of the bloke who plays with Italian prog band The Watch, he makes his own 'Handyman' guitars.... nice!

I have something a bit like that. Shown here with two of my genuine Rics:-

  3.
Maxon AF-9 is supposedly very close to the holy grail of env filters (the original Mutron III)
I bought one of these to replace my Boss AW-2 on the strength of such claims. I never quite got into it though, as as auto-filters don't feature in my sound at the moment it sits in its box under the bed.

  4. I had an SKB pedal board with built-in PSU and another cheap(-ish) PSU (I forget the brand). I had terrible problems with oscillator noise from my ChoralFlamnge being injected via the PSU into one of my fuzz pedals and also present on the output of the ChoralFlange. It was unusable.

The problems went away as soon as I bought the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2. Pricey though.

I did wonder if the Diago might have been just as good (if not better) a solution though....

  5.
see ive played with compressors a wee bit, I'll be honest and say I've never seen a use for them for me.
this may be due to the random way I use my right hand but ive never seen what they add to my sound, often when using them i get annoyed with something changing the way the notes open out. maybe i'm talking rubbish here
feel free to educate me what use they should have!
I agree.

  6.
The lights can be bought here : http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=225581

I'm doing it free of charge however my guitarist is paying for all the parts etc. I'm doing it to see how it will last and perform in real gigging situation and if it works I might start making them for people! If you think about it the cost of this one up to date is £37.50 and it's only so high because of those lights and light-up fans that he wanted!
It's very impressive.

  7.
Haven't you got a reissue one on your CS?
Yes - and it sounds lovely. I want a backup though!

I also really want a stereo output - I may resort to re-wiring my 4001cs....

  8.
I think this is one of the earlier ones - it's got a different bridge too. Never noticed it's a bolt-neck, either - the ones on the Bach site are neck-through:

    <snip>

    These are through-neck, not bolt-on:
The one on eBay is definitely bolt on:-

    http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y263/mace...ebay/IMG028.jpg

  9.
Not sure what postage from the Czech Republic would be, but they're somewhat cheaper new, direct from BaCH That's about £240.

I like these, quite a lot... :brow:

    J.
Different pickups on their own website, aren't they. The example on eBay has (what look like) toasters.

They are rather pretty aren't they? Rather chunky bolt-on necks though. I am sure they feel and sound quite different from a Rick.

  10.
ok thanks!

i am very interested in this but £100 is a little steep for me right now, but that is an AMAZING price, i'll see what money i can scrape together but i am interested,

can this take a standard BOSS power supply or?

also what are the dimensions? as my pedal board is currently BOSS only + a big muff, and with this things connectors at the north end i'll need to re-arrange, maybe drop the muff from the board etc

    Many Thanks!

    Note:
How would you want payment? and would it be posted or?

(sorry! i sound like i've bought it! count this as a feeler offer i guess)
Thanks for your interest.

The pedal takes a standard Boss power supply. the approximate dimensions are 4" x 6.5" and 2" high.

Payment by Paypal. When that has cleared I could post or the buyer is welcome to collect.

I could post however you want (at your cost), but it would have to be signed for on delivery (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery). I think that'd probably cost about £8.

    Okay?

  11.
what is the difference (minus cosmetics, and i must say the new one looks very very cool) between yours and this? http://www.buyanalogman.com/Bass_Octave_Fu...octave-fuzz.htm
I think the only difference is the case and the addition of a status LED on the newer version.

  12. Hi folks,

I need to upgrade by delay pedal and get a tremolo. Up for grabs is my Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz. I will take £100 for the pedal - but would prefer a swap/trade. The Black Cat is a replica of the Maestro Bass Brassmaster (similar to the Melekko B:Assmaster). This is original Black Cat pedal. No longer in production and very difficult to find.

Near mint condition (but for some very minor cosmetic scuffs on the front - see the pics attached).

True Bypass switching

AC adaptor jack (Boss PSA/Ibanez style) or internal 9V battery

Normal Volume, Effected volume, and Drive knobs

Two toggle switches: filter and Harmonic for various tones

Fuzz with octavia sound with excellent low end response.

Heavy duty steel metal enclosure about 4" x 6.5" and 2" high
These are the pedals I am interested in:-

Lovepedal Echobaby

Catlinbread Semaphor (tremolo)

Boss DD-7

Retrosonic Analog Delay

    Open to other suggestions!

  13.
No prizes for guessing my favourite pedal brand :)

    <snip>

Reason for sale? I find arranging and rearranging pedals and adjusting the settings a real pain in the arse. I want it all in one box and with presets, dammit!
He'll be back!!!! With his tail between his legs. Mark my words.

  14.
Mosfet or not does make a difference sound wise but using mosfet does not necessarily make a bad pedal sound good or vice versa.

I would suggest to not consider the presence (or not) of mosfet transistors when you buy a pedal. IMO, sound, connectivity, interface, construction and customer support are more important elements.
The question arises I suppose because Fulltone decided to label the redesigned pedal as the "Bass Drive MOSFET". This suggested it is a selling point. I have no idea why they would - all that matters is how it sounds.

I don't suppose the EBS is still available?

I just listened to your stuff on myspace. Excellent!!!!

  16.
what is mosfet in relation to pedals? wat does it do ect and what difference does it make cheers
MOSFET is an acronym for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor. It's a type of transistor. They are often used in amplifier or buffer
design (and make good switches too). They are quite linear and relatively easy to design with. Unlike bipolar transistors (which they largely displaced in amplifier design) they are not susceptible to catastrophic over-heating.

That's about all I can remember now (it was a long time ago I did my degree).

In am amplifier, MOSFETs can be used to provide oodles of clean power (think of Trace Elliot).

In relation to pedals, it just means the circuit designer used MOSFETs in the circuit and, in itself, doesn't really mean very much at all!

    Why do you ask?

  17.
I ordered the parts to make a simple true bypass blend pedal this morning. Might take a few photos as I am making it as well.

I use www.musikding.de for all my pedal parts. Its a German site but Klaus' service is usually excellent. Parts cost me £18 including shipping, ordered 8.00 am and shipped by 9.30. He also does some kits with PCB's for pedals like fuzz face, tube screamer and distortion plus which are about £25.
Oooh - thanks for that link! I may be making some purchases!!!!

  18.
3x jack sockets, .0047u cap, hammond style metal box, neutrik TRS plug and 2m of cable. Total cost £11, labour 20 minutes. Rub in the magic snake oil and add vintage looking logo. Result £79. I shall look into making identical units, advertise them on ebay, and wait for the insults to start flying when they claim I have "stolen their design". I hasten to use the word "stupidity" lest I annoy the mods, but really... :)
You think you're clever? Why aren't you doing it then?

  19.
Keep watching the "For Sale" sections on RickResource - both C64s & stray horsies do come up fairly often. You'd probably get a decent deal, as well.
