1. Ah, I'm afraid you're just gonna have to man up.
2. just clean it up hold your finger so the cut is closed and cover it in superglue and it'll be fine for playing with, just try not to superglue your blood.
3. Big Fish Rehearsal Rooms hire gear I believe.

6. It's repeated tonight at 9 on BBC4 I'm gonna get on it.
7. I've got mates who do bands with costumes, I tend to look at them and think they'd be better without the costumes. for example: BARBEROS - http://www.myspace.com/barberosmusic
8. My Marshall Bass 4x12 is pretty good, I've had no problems with it. It's not MB series though, it's a VBC412 I think.
9. Thanks! yeah , it was the same size as a 4x12, did they sound any good though?
10. I saw a cab like this with a recessed grille at the weekend for £125, does anyone have any information on it? the fella who had it didn't seem to know anything at all about it, including what speakers it holds?
11. Yeah I am. I've had people coming up to check out whats on my pedal board at gigs, but generally more to figure out what the flashing lights are when I'm using a tuner to mute a theremin than anything else.
12. I have one of these too, in the pearlescent white, I put a Dimarzio Split P in it and it sounds amazing. It is heavy but I quite like a heavy bass.
13.
and dimarzio do these for precision -
I have these in my Precision, I really like them.
14.
£8. It's good when people don't appreciate the value of something, ain't it? Jon.
Mine looked that good once. Sean.
15. This is my Thunder I bass, that I bought for £40 when I was 14, as my first bass, it still sounds good, and I still use it. just a volume and tone knob. It's that good that when I was looking for my first guitar I bought another Thunder I (£150), although I've beaten it to pieces in 7 years of playing in a noise-rock/punk band, including stamping on it, throwing it at stuff, playing it with a hammer, etc. real idiot things. but it still works great and the neck is still straight.
16.
-Update- decided to go with a red tortoise shell pickguard instead of a black pickguard (bit too black IMO). Also I wish to give it a 'worn' look, any advice on how to do this? - your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Dan.
Play it loads, or throw it down the stairs, I'd suggest playing it.
17. I wanted to play bass cause of Krist Novoselic, my household and infact whole family bar me have no real interest in music. I stood behind Krist at ATP a couple of years ago but what too scared and in awed to say anything to him.
18. Then: Westone Thunder I and 15watt practice amp (when I was 14) *years of playing everything but bass in bands Now: Homemade P-bass, Hartke LH500 into 2 x Marshall 2x12.
19.
Respectfully, you wouldn't make it past your first audition with my band. A band is a team with a common goal. Or at least it should be. I certainly wouldn't want to endure a gig where one (or more) band members simply want to be as loud as possible. Can anyone really be so blind or selfish to behave like that in a band? As mentioned, those guys won't spend much time in bands.
The bands common goal can be playing really loud. I play in 5 bands - 1 of which is folky stuff, 1 solo and 3 bands, and in all of those bands we're all being loud, not in the sense to fight eachother for who's loudest, more to make some all encompasing sound. It's not a selfish think, I like playing loud as possible, as do the other members of the bands I play in, thats what we do. I play music with my friends and thats it, I have no dream of making it big, or any real hopes of playing on massive stages etc. I just want to play the kinda stuff I like watching with my mates on a bit of floor with loads of people packed in. I'm not imagining I'm speaking for the majority of people on here, and i'm not trying to, I'm purely speaking about my own joy with huge, deafening and sometimes difficult sound.
20.
Ditto. Are musicians playing in covers bands in pubs not alowed big fat juicy amps with nice tone?
Nah, I'm not saying that, I'm just speaking for my own quest to be as loud and horrible sounding as possible, regardless of the size of room i'm in etc. Plus I try not to need the bands guitars/basses etc though the PA, we have it all sorted so the soundman only has to put the vocals loud enough.
21. PA Shme-A. I never play that kind of venue, with a built up stage and a barrier and a massive PA, I generally and try my best to play in small venues, where we can play on the floor - with the audience. If the PA is being used it'll just be for the bass drum and vocals.
22. I understand that when you're talking about pub covers bands, but as a musician playing my own stuff in gig venues, I wanna be louder than hell.
