The Bass Show UK - Cranmore Park, Birmingham - March 1st and 2nd

The organisor Jason, has gone to NAMM this week. He told us when he's back he will be putting out more info so I'll try and update here when he does. -
Haha be that as it may, good solder, good joints, costs a bit, also its a 500g roll that will last you about 3 months if your building a lot of pedals. Especially if your selling them. You need to be RoHS compliant remember

I use Loctite Multicore - https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/solder/1850070 and I set my iron to about 410 for it. Melts and flows well. You'll find that unless you are using lead free boards that it looks a little dull but they are not cold solder joints. Still super solid. Either that or Kester, I've not used the Kester stuff but its meant to be top draw.

Hey guys, Some more info for you. We have Warwick and Sadowsky confirmed as exhibitors as well as Ashdown, Chowny Bass, The Vintage Bass Room, Barnes and Mullins and Rotosound. Also have Steve Lawson and Scott’s BL confirmed as well, with hopefully 2 sessions each day in the clinic room (tbc later) I'll add more info as it becomes avaliable. -
@Sarah BRM glad Dans got some help. Still waiting for my physical issue 5, could you chase that up with Dan as he isn't responding to emails. Cheers, Matt.

I love my Stomp, but I feel it might be a bit of overkill for your situation looking at what you already have. As someone else said, DI box is usually at the end of the chain to send a balanced signal to front of house or recording desk.

Hi all, I'm trying to raise some funds to take my brand to NAMM. I had this listed for a while elsewhere but didn't get much interested so thought I'd try here. Great bass, nice weight to it. Gets played often so has signs of play, a few slight dings in the neck but nothing serious or big. Active electronics are okay, the pots are fine but I had to adjust the heights on the dual pot when it arrived as they wouldn't turn individually (just being as transparent as I can here) but they work totally fine. Pickup or meet up from Pontefract, Doncaster or Leeds. Cheers, Matt.

The Bass show has been confirmed for March 1st and 2nd in a dedicated hall along side the Guitar show in Birmingham. I spoke to Jason the organiser last year and asked him if he had thought about hosting the show, he told me he wasn't sure on if there was a want for one. I carried out some market research for him with polls on Insta and some Facebook groups and the feeling was that we 110% wanted the return of a bass show, but not just stalls. So I reached out to Jason with this information and also Scott from SBL. It looks like (hopefully) the SBL team will be putting on some clinics and stuff as well (But don't quote me on that as I just passed Scott onto Jason) In summary, there will be booths showcasing some great bass gear and clinics. Who would you like to see do clinics? I'm thinking of asking Cici about doing something, InThePocket Podcast for a live Q&A, anything else? Also, for those that have been disappointed with guitar shows not show casing more bass gear, ya better be at this one https://www.theguitarshow.co.uk/ - tickets are £16- 192 replies

I'd love to meet some fellow Yorkshire bass folk over coffee and cake, the odd rumble here and there. Does anyone normally organise a Yorkshire meet? Or is there not enough of us to warrant one?
-
Unfortunetly most shows are catered to the guitar players these days.

I picked up issue 5 (obviously, because I got a pedal in it) but found the articles much better in this one. Anyone have it? think the same? Waiting for my hard copy through the mail still. Dan still takes forever to answer any questions so I feel he is doing all this on his own.

I spoke to Dan at Guitar Show earlier this year in Birmingham. It seems that its just him trying to get a new mag going for us bassists. Most likely why its a little ropey etc anyway I sent him a Hornburg pedal to review and hopefully I'll get a feel for what else the mag is like before I invest too much in ads etc. It looks pretty for sure and the reviews seem to be written well. Fingers crossed the mag improves, but personally I think its great to have one starting up again.

Just read through this and I know its some what self promotion, but my BlackIce fits the bill here (so I think) its a low gain, edge of breakup overdrive, mids etc.

Welcome, also a new guy here from Leeds, if ya ever wanna try some of my stuff out give us a shout.

Hey all, names Matt. I run Goliath FX (promise I wont spam, but if I see a post about overdrives am I allowed to comment?) I make mainly bass orientated effects and utility pedals. The utility stuff is new and I'm working on it. Basically switchers, DIs, etc. I'm a metal bassist, played metal most of my adult life. So am I fool for trying to take on DarkGlass? Who knows. Aside from bass I love spending time with my son and wife. We go fishing, play Lego (all obsessed with the stuff) and little man has started to show a keen interest in playing bass/guitar so looking forward to expanding on that. I work a shift job as an engineer so my off time is pretty precious which is why, one day, I'd like to take on Goliath full time but its not earning me anything yet so its a bit of a pipe dream. Yeah, thats it, thanks for reading. Chat soon.
