Thanks everyone! I do like the idea of some open mic nights/jam nights so I am going to try and go along so some of those.

So after yet another wasted time on JMB... I just want to play some music with people... so disheartening... Thought to myself, I should actually probably record a couple of things to send off to people might save a little bit of time. As ever might be a stupid thing to ask, anyone got any suggestions or something they like to do? Use a backing track, just do a small 30 second self jam, use my looper pedal and mess around? All three? Feel free to share examples! I could look on youtube but not sure I am ready to share my bass shreding and tapping techniques... only get more discouraged!

No 8 string guitarists here? As a recent convert to bass I really see the appeal now, maybe an octave pedal in there for more lows. At least to experiment with. As my dad taught me, "The number of strings isnt a measurement of your genitalia son... its the type of car you have..."

Right stupid question, and probably something I should have figured out a while ago. Why do some active basses need two 9v batteries? I think I get it for something like a dual humbucker, but there seems to be others that have it and only single coil?

Heck I make mistakes all the time... no one ever follows the bass Maybe I need to sing too.

My pretty humble first try at a pedal board! Still have to figure out how to place my power supply nicely, align everything up nicely... and well might be getting even more pedals and do some shuffling.

Bought a pedal train and Fender bass trapper from Krispn. Sent me lots of pics, very quick turn around and came well wrapped. Pleasure dealing with and even put up with me waiting by the window impatiently for it all to arrive. Thanks!

I'm Steve. Loving reading through the forums. Been playing instruments for a good while, mainly the guitar but changed over to bass to mix things up. Wish I had done it sooner, learning new things, hearing new things and building up my bass collection. Got myself an Ibanez SR600e and really love playing it and how it sounds. Kinda want a 5 string now too.... want it all... mid life crisis and all that. Could be worse I suppose!
