  1. The thing is, I've had DiMarzio Area J pickups fitted, and I have put the originals that were taken out on the Basschat website for sale.

I had a query from a potential buyer as to what the pickups that came out of it are - that's why I'm asking the question on here, so as to give as much info as possible.

It must be admitted that the originals did sound fine & I gigged it for years before having the fit of GAS & going for the "upgrade" - in a band /live gig situation TBH you can't really tell the difference !

  2. Cor - I thought it would be a straightforward reply!

Well the guitar was made (crafted), sorry) in Japan, and it was made for sale in the UK - -I bought it from Coda Music as soon as the model came out - so I suppose that makes it an export(?)

It was one that was advertised by Fender as the '62 Jazz Bass reissue, and has serial number V038563 which, I understand, dates it as 1996/1997.

  3. Hi - pair of pickups & mounting screws from my CIJ 62 Reissue Jazz Bass, both in A1 working order - a couple of plectrum scratch marks on the covers is all.

I put a pair of DiMarzio Area J pickups in my bass, so the originals are now surplus to requirements.

If anyone wants them sending abroad, then ask me & I'll see ifI can send them by a recorded/tracked service - and I will find an extra price for the shipping.

  4. Hey - is there anyone else going to this tomorrow?

My mate John & I are having stall there so please call & say hi - ours will be the only stall with a green baize off a pool table as the table top cover.

I'll put the details of the venue below & hope that this isn't contrary to the BassChat ethos - we are just taking a few secondhand bits & pieces & a handful of el cheapo retored/repaired guitars - (I'm not trying to promote tha sale of our stuff, just to point out that the event is on, and it's usually a good atmosphere.

I like these small venues as it's usually more of a "Car Boot" guitar show rather than all the big boys going there - anyway we're looking forward to a day out - and no doubt will spend more than we take!

    Cheers,

    Geoff.

  5. Bought a rack mount TC reverb & effects unit from Carlsim - great communication , and he sent the item very well packed & very promptly.

Great guy to deal with, absolutely recommend him to others.
